Very close to beach and the strip 5 english tv channels and a dvd player

we had a room at the back of the resort which was a bit on the small side. beds are a small bit hard and uncomfortable staff are very good and hotel is right on the beach so location is excellent. between it and its sister hotels they have all the facilities you could need

After reading many reviews online, myself and my girlfriend were a bit apprehensive. However, following arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at the loveliness of the place. The room was clean, the location was convenient, and the facilities were excellent! If you are looking for a week of relaxation at the beach or by the pool, then you shouldn't be disappointed. ONE CRITICISM: We would have liked air-conditioning in our room. But, we were supplied with a fairly powerful fan. 4.5/5

What can I say? In one word - perfect. Booking in was quick. Shown to our apartment, which was just fantastic with everything catered for (even hair drier, iron and ironing board) :-). The room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice. The hotel staff were friendly at all times and when I had a problem my transfer, they were very helpful and sorted it out within minutes. All-in-all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Praia da Oura to anyone. It was fantastic and I cannot praise them enough. There are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars to go to just outside of the hotel and our favourite was Rania's ( a little restaurant, walking distance) where the fish we ordered was just fantastic. Hiring a car is easy, though cheaper if you book from the UK before you go. The roads are NOT busy at all around Albuferia. We drove to Lisbon on the A22 - which is a toll road at 20 euro's. Expensive as this may seem, we only saw about 10 cars along the 200km. Strange - but driving on an empty road sure has its advantages. A lovely hotel A lovely area A lovely country Will definitely book again - without a doubt.

Was a bit apprehensive before going as i had seen some iffy reviews about the lack of air con. We went from the 27Aug - 03rd Sept and we didnt have any problem with the temperature in the rooms; we had a fan attached to the wall and another on the floor which was more than adequate. In saying that it might have been more of an issue mid summer when temperatures were higher. The resort has everything; restaurant, good pool and 2 minutes walk to the beach. Its an 8 minutes walk to the strip and we went there most nights for dinner/drinks. Our room had a sea view, 2 exterior loungers/a small dining table so it was perfect for chilling out after a hard days sun bathing. Loved the resort & Albufeira

Apartments were pristine, in a fab location and the rooms were very large. Only complaint was the Person who rang us every morning to buy time share plus the fact that we didnt find alot of evening entertainment (but there was plenty nearby on the Strip (5 min walk)). Staff were OK. Not over-enthusiastic, could have been more friendly and helpful (the senior staff anyway). We did not see alot of Staff. The complex was kept beautifully and the noise was never a problem. I would recommend for families or couples.

Booking in was very slow as we arrived just a bus load arrived. Having said that all the staff were very helpful. Entertainment staff were excellent. Room was clean on arrival and was also cleaned three times during our weeks stay. Unfortunately due to the position of our room the patio only received sun from 10 until 2 approx. However, sea views from the side and beach two minutes away. Lots of steps or steep slopes to access rooms, pool and beach so may be unsuitable for those with mobility problems. Our room was unaccessible without climbing stairs. Did not eat at onsite restaurant. Had apartment and cooked a couple of our own meals. All cooking equipment looked brand new. Good local restaurants with varying prices. Beaches fantastic. Trips available from the hotel but we had prebooked a car so did not use them. All in all an excellent winter break.

The room was clean and functional and staff were friendly and helpful. Great location with easy access to sandy/rocky beach. Plenty of places to eat and if you look carefully, you'll find some lovely eateries that serve local authentic Portuguese food.

I am very disappointed. This hotel is not at all what I was expecting. On the hottest week of the year the hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms. Only a couple of electric fans that do not quite do the job. Sleeping at night was nearly impossible in the tropical heat. The description of their rooms is also very inadequate. The advertised studio is described as family-friendly but it does accommodate a family. The description mentions there is a sofa-bed in the room, but it does not point out that it is the only bed in the room!!! We were led to believe that there was a sofa-bed in addition to a regular bed, and that is what made it family-friendly. Upon finding several dead bugs on the walk outside our room, I asked what they were, and was told the hotel has a roach infestation problem, which is being addressed. I was advised to inspect my luggage before leaving the hotel to make sure I did not take any roaches with me back home. (Apparently the roaches like to hide in dark places - like inside handbags and suitcases). There was a pool, and lots of people in it. If you are looking for a place to crash after a wild drinking party on the town, and if you do not mind the over-priced rooms, then this is the place for you. However, if you are traveling with children and would like a place to actually sleep at night, I would steer clear of this location.
