Creative, boutique hotel combines style and innovation with location
The Internacional Design Hotel Lisbon overlooking Rossio Plaza combines Portuguese tradition with innovative design. This 55-room boutique hotel boasts the work of renowned architects, designers, decorators and artists that spent months melding the principles of Zen, Urban, Tribu and Pop culture into a succinct, successful property. From the outside, the lit lilac façade draws guests in while the interior décor inspires them to learn more. The hotel also features Naoki restaurant (international and national cuisine) and the Rossio Wine Bar.Highlights
- Innovative, unique design
- Naoki restaurant and wine bar on site
- Bathrobe and slippers
Rooms
Each floor at the Internacional Design Hotel Lisbon is different and reflects one of four aesthetics: Zen, Urban, Tribu or Pop. A white bedspread, the only constant in the controlled chaos, creates a clean focal point for the rest of the furnishings. Depending on the theme, bright colors, loud artwork, refined lines or funky prints are commonplace. Guests choose among S, M, L or XL rooms. All rooms include twin or queen beds, sound proof windows, hair dryer, telephone, mini-bar, wireless Internet connection, LCD TV, bathrobe, slippers and in-room climate control. Amenities in the bathrooms are by Rituals. The XL rooms feature Jacuzzi tub and views of Rossio Square and/or Rua Augusta.Features
The Naoki restaurant serves international and national cuisines and is a great option when guests want to stay close to home. Afterward, the wine bar provides a long list of specialty wines to taste and try. When guests want to leave, check in with the concierge about the best places to visit. The hotel can rent a car, reserve a spot at one of Lisbon’s hottest restaurants or simply provide you with directions.Transportation

- BEST LOCATION IN LISBON. From the historical structures of the ancient Internacional Hotel, clamming for innovation, sophistication and courage, it is born. The addition of the word Design and the daring use of the colour Lilac in its faade, on the traditional Rossio Square, denounce to the world the purposes of reinvention and exclusivity offered by this "boutique hotel"

In the heart of Lisbon!
Clean, fresh, crisp sheets, excellent view onto Rossio Square and Rua Augusta. This was an outstanding hotel. I loved it. Wish I could have stayed longer. 2 pastry shops right nearby. Great location, great staff, excellent breakfast. Couldn't ask for better. The hotel even offers babysitting.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
In Lisbon, get from the lower town to Bairro Alto (for free) by going through the dept store FNAC and taking the escalators. (Easier than walking the hill.)

Great Location but pricey
Great staff at reception. Great location and trendy little hotel. Rooms are small. And we paid for an S room. Quite expensive for what it is. Breakfast is good but does not change much day to day. They catered for a vegetarian amongst us too. The staff are very helpful and that made our stay

Really Great!
I wasn't expecting this to be such a fantastic hotel! The room (we had a cocoon without much of a view) was large, great closet space with a safe, large 42" flat screen, queen bed, a/c unit and a really nice bathroom!! The lime green toilet paper was pretty funny too! Each floor has a different theme and we stayed on the Zen floor...a quiet retreat! The bar is also good though its usually pretty empty, but that just means better service and a seat with a view of Rossio Square! The hotel offers free wifi throughout which is great for international travels without data/3G service. The front desk was very helpful with directions and helping us out with some toiletries that we left behind. For a tourist, this is the location! The Aerobus from the airport drops you off very close and you're in the heart of the city so it's easy to walk, bus or train anywhere. One of the best hotels I've stayed in and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Lisbon. Highly recommended!

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
From the hotel it is a 3-5 minute walk to meet up with a guide from We Hate Tourism Tours. Take the dinner tour the first night you're there. You'll find it relaxing to have a local help you get your bearings on a short tour and then take you out to dinner. By the time the tour is over, it will be late in the evening...you'll be full of good food, happy to get a better understanding of the city and go back to a air conditioned hotel to use the fancy shower or hop on the wifi to tell your friend back home about the wonderful Portuguese hospitality!

Fantastic
This was my first visit to Lisbon and the hotel location could not have been better. Walking to many of the top site seeing destinations, night life and right on the main squares and promenade. Staff was extremely helpful and did everything possible to make my stay enjoyable.

Funky little hotel in great part of town
You can't get any better than Internacional Design Hotel's location. Right in the heart of Lisbon's Rossio Square, it makes getting around to the action super easy. We went to Thieve's Market, the Castle on the hill, took an open jeep tour, rode Tram 28, and walked around and shopped and ate in various different parts of the city. My only complaint about our room was that it was quite small, with little to no room to maneuver around the king-sized bed. There was also for some reason no iron provided, with an explanation along the lines of it being a fire hazard...whatever. Other than that, the free welcome drink tickets and hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful overall.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Walk up the hill to see some Fado at the famous Chapito. Even if you miss the night when they're performing, the view and the ambiance outside are worth it.
