Incrediable location

Having breakfast on the outside on the waterfront was amazing. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The staff was excellent. It seemed that they couldn't do enough for you. They picked up our party in their Mercedes sedan and Mercedes SUV(we had a lot of luggage) even though we arrived after 10PM local time. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

very comfortable stay

The V&A hotel is very conveniently located at the waterfront, rooms are comfortable (I liked the cozy feel and quiet position of the loft rooms) and clean. What made it such a lovely stay is the V&A staff though, they were, without exception, welcoming, friendly and very helpful, from the maid to the reception staff and porters, as well as restaurant personnel. Liesl from travel services deserves an extra mention - she's been very helpful and clearly enjoys her job. I enjoyed the restaurant's special crayfish deal so much that I had it twice in a row - great value and very tasty. Happy to come back to the V&A some time soon.

Hip and Perfect Location

We loved this beautiful hotel. It was decorated in a very classy urban way with great amenities. The hotel was freshly painted and the bed was so comfortable! The wait staff did a great job and the food was delicious. The location was perfect - we were right where the action was. We felt very safe and had a good time at the shops in and around the hotel.

Superb waterfront location

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Victoria & Alfred. We loved the location and enjoyed fantastic leisurely breakfasts (one of the best breakfasts we have ever had) sitting outside overlooking the waterfront. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful and each morning our car was cleaned in the hotel car park. We stayed in a Superior Luxury Piazza facing double room. The room itself was spacious and comfortable but the decor and furnishings were very dark and in our opinion it could do with a lighter/brighter colour scheme with perhaps a picture or two on the walls. It would then be more pleasing to the eye. The bathroom was fantastic..

Close to the energy of the waterfront

This hotel is nicely located at the waterfront. The room was nice, albeit a little small. The breakfast was great. Be sure to secure a room overlooking the harbour AND facing Table Mountain.

South Africa Trip

Check in was quick and efficient. The location couldn't be better. You walk out and many restuarants and shops are right at your fingertips. We used there pool which is across the street, very quaint, and they had lunch facilities so you never had to leave the location and could charge to your room. The view from the meals was awesome. Would go back in a hearbeat.....

Victoria & Alfred Cape Town SA

No downsides. It is not an inexpensive hotel, but the breakfast is very good, the room is clean & comfortable, it has an elevator, most of all the location is perfect, right on the waterfront, adjacent to a good shopping center, restaurants, bars, and within a 3 minute walk to the hop on-hop-off bus. I can't think of any downside. I think it is the place to stay in Cape Town
