Barcelo Malaga Hotel

The hotel is in perfect location.Its connected to shopping center and a shopping center is connected to a train station.it 5 minutes walk from Malaga bus station.friendly staff and clean room.

Overall, the hotel was perfect. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The room was nice and modern. The location was AMAZING! We had access to all the bus, train and Renfe. Perfect hotel if you want your base to be Malaga and travel to other cities.

It was fantastic. The People were hospitable, friendly, and courteous. The hotel was in a prime location, in the mall, next to the train and bus stations with taxi cabs. The food was excellent, espicially VIPS Resturant in the mall. I will definitely visit again.

Loved it!!! There is a sliding board from the first floor tothe lobby. Hotel is 15 minutes from the airport and next to the train station which has fabulous shopping!

The hotel is great if you're spending a lot of time travelling by bus and train in and out of Malaga but it's not in the older part of the city where the museums and other sights are. It's within walking distance but not a short walk.

Straightforward business hotel. At checkout beware of paying by credit card as the bill is automatically changed to your home currency at the rates of local bank Banco March (+3.5%), so if you use Amex you could lose up to 6% ! Another banking scam.

I have stayed here twice. The first time, the air conditioning and internet wasn't working. Had to be moved three times. No compensation was given to me. The second time, the wallpaper was beginning to come off the wall, and the shower head wouldn't stay at head level (it was on a sliding bar, and it kept falling to the bottom).

We visited this hotel on our two week vacation in Malaga. We could have been pretty positive about the hotel in general but on day number 13 when we got back to our hotel room after a day at the beach, my boyfriend’s Iphone and Ipad had been STOLEN. On our first hotel day the safety box said “low battery” so we didn’t want to use it. We should of course have told the reception, it’s easy to be in hindsight, but the hotel felt safe at first appearance, mostly because of its fancy appearance and that it has 4 stars, so we didn’t think it would be a problem. We’ve certainly learnt to never be that naive again. However, I wouldn’t be here writing this if the hotel manager had taken us serious and hadn’t ending up accusing us for making it up only because we were lucky enough that they didn’t take ALL of our valued things like my Iphone, my SLR camera or the credit cards. The hotel made a check-up to see which keycards had been used to open the door but it was only us and the cleaning staff who had passed through the door that day. We locked our door on the way out to the beach, so WE didn’t let anyone in. We don’t know who did this or if it was planned or not. The hotel manager claimed that if it had been planned they would have taken everything. While I rather think that if it was planned (along with the staff) they wouldn’t take everything because it would be too obvious and they can’t repeat it. It’s just ironic how it happened on the very last day of our visit. I felt very convenient as for the lack of time to make a police reports etc. Anyway, we don’t know who did it or how it happened. But we want to write this review to warn anyone else who decides to stay at this hotel. Do not leave anything upfront and do not expect the hotel manager to care or try to make it up to you (except for changing room) if anything gets stolen, because he will only say that his hotel is safe and that he trust his staff and in our case he ended up accusing us for making it up when we had 2 hours left until our flight home.
