Hotel Cornavin

The room was small, but that was expected and was fine. Great use of space for a small room, though. Location is super-convenient, but being close to the train station means some noise if the window is open. Beautiful view from 8th-floor breakfast room. Breakfast is basic but fine: cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads, hard-boiled eggs -- no scrambled eggs, no mueslix. Would stay there again.

Surely not a 4 star hotel, at least not by Swiss standards. However it is sufficiently clean and totally well located. Between 1 and 2 minutes walk from the central train station (depends on how fast you walk), buses and trams are exactly in front and the main attractions are very much within reach. Being my first visit to Switzerland, I can't compare the service at the front desk with other Swiss hotels. However, since I travel very often, I might say that the reception staff was not helpful and not knowledgable enough. They refused to give me information regarding the buses schedules to Chamonix, saying they didn't have internet access. I just hope theirs was a lousy excuse. We took breakfast only once. It costs 19 francs (something like 13 euros) and it is extremely limited. Apart from being only a cold buffet, they didn't have any lactose free milk/butter/pastries. I haven't encountered this in any hotel in Europe for the last couple of years.

The place was great! Can't beat the location or cleanliness! I wanted to stay there on my last night (3 weeks later) before I had to fly home, but when I called, I was told the room would be $281 francs. Considering i had paid about $109 the first time, I thought this a bit extreme! But...apparently there was something going on that week as all hotels had suddenly gone psycho super expensive! And while it was well worth $109, I wasn't about to pay $281! Plus, breakfast, on their awesome breakfast floor, is $30 extra!!! Sorry - but who can eat that much bacon and eggs to make that worthwhile! I would stay there again - most definitely - but for under $200 only, regardless of what's going on in town that made the rates go up everywhere!

Good location, the room was small but for one night it is was worth...

I stayed 5 nights in room 614, which has a nice view direction Swiss Alps and a coffee maker, desk and ample plugs and cupboard space. The modern bathroom includs a hair dryer. The bed is simple and alergic guests should be aware of real down duvets on it and the designer chairs are made with real cow fur. The WiFi works and is reasonably priced (20 CHF per week). I would stay there again albeit the price varies by factor 3 depending on events in Geneva.

Handy location next to the main railway station. You may not see it immediately but turn right when you walk out of the main railway station exit and its the first building you come to. hotel has a good breakfast room with panoramic view over geneva. Its good for a short stay.

nice location and decent rooms

Just next to the main railway station. Rooms are very good. Breakfast room is on the eighth floor providing a magnificent view over the city. Very efficient and friendly reception staff.

We were ending a 2 1/2 week trip to Italy and Switzerland. Since we were leaving by train to the airport, the location of the hotel was fantastic. The area a little rough but we did walk everywhere Most hotels have breakfast included with the hotel stay and we were surprised that with the hight cost of our room, $170 CHF ,we did not. We would not stay at this hotel again. Very expensive internet!
