Good stay at the Amari Watergate.
As you'd expect from Amari, this is a very clean & well organised hotel with decent amenities and attentive, polite staff. Bar & Food prices are in line with other Amari hotels across Thailand (that is to say...a little steep!# but, hey! This is Bangkok and you don't have to travel far to find more affordable options. My only criticism #and it's only a slight one# of this hotel is that it's just a little bit 'Out of the way' when it comes to reaching both what you'd call the 'centre' of Bangkok and the riverside. I would suggest staying along Sukhumvit Road #which has many hotels of this standard & better# for ease of access to the citys many attractions.

Go across the road (via the footbridge) into the Platinum World Complex & head up to the 6th floor food hall where you'll find literally dozens of authentic thai food stalls, offering 1000's of meal options, that are unbelievably cheap (50 baht or so per meal) and served in a spotlessly clean environment to substantially reduce the cost of your stay in Bangkok (and it's good fun too!).

Great Location, Awesome Bed
Super comfy bed, awesome shower. This hotel has a great location, near shopping and metro station. The taxi driver knew it and so there was no trouble getting here from the airport (about 200 BHT from the Air Asia airport). Sadly, breakfast wasn't included in our booking so we didn't get to try it (they wanted 1,000BHT per person per day!! Yikes.). But there are three(!) McDonalds, 2(!) Starbucks and a Dunkin Donuts within a few hundred meters of the hotel, if that sounds good to you. Otherwise, you can get up early and catch some of the hawkers. The lobby is a lovely place to relax, concierge was super friendly. As a mom with a baby stroller, I thought there were too many stairs and not enough ramps around the public areas. We loved the fruit placed in our room by the cleaner -- great afternoon snack.

Check out Terminal 21's food court for some excellent Thai and global food in a very clean place, very inexpensive and high quality. Get the green papaya salad.

GREAT HOTEL..AND STAFF....BUT...
The only thing that lets this hotel down is the beds... so hard...makes getting a full nights sleep a total nightmare!!! Apart from that it really is a lovely place to stay!!!

Staff extremely polite and helpful. Very well organised hotel. Very clean, good internet price, restaurant on lower level not to be recommended the snack bar at entrance level ok. Easy walk to shopping centres. For more distant shopping we took an auto rickshaw for pre arranged price of 20 baht return.

First of all, upon arriving the
First of all, upon arriving the hotel, for some reason, my booking cannot be found, it took quite a while to start working on my check in. It was 6:00pm (with my 2 hours flight delay), still no room is availble, I have to wait for another half an hour to get my room. This is quite disappointing. Nice thing is the staffs are very nice with beautiful smiles that compensate the slow, unefficient work. Hotel is located in a very busy but not the nicest area, a lot of small local style shops around, convenient for shopping & local transportations.
