H Residence

Stopped at the H-Residence for 4 nights on our way out of Thailand; everything about the hotel was ok, but nothing was spectacular. Rooms were average, more like private rooms at an upscale hostel than at a full-blown hotel. Location was good - about a 20 minute walk to Patpong, and about 10 minutes to the BTS Skytrain - but note that there is limited restaurant options close by. The hotel restaurant was expensive, and we only chose to eat there once, although the coffee was quite good and we enjoyed a cup or two each morning. The rooftop pool was a plus, and helped with the hot Bangkok afternoons. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and even opened our beers for us that we bought at the local 7-11.

Alittle off the main round, and not quiet a minutes walk to the BTS. But they do provide free tuk tuk service to the main road through-out the day and well into the night. Staff are awesome, so friendly and always ready to help. Its a perfect little accomodation, will definatly be visiting again!!

I stayed in this hotel for 8 nights while waiting for visa. The hotel is very new and very clean. Friendly staff who speak enough english to help you around. They have free internet. The area is very quiet because the hotel is not along a main road. If you don't mind to walk a bit everything is here. Lots of different restaurans, 7 eleven, and the nice shoppingstreet of Silom. The great Lumphini Park is easy to reach. With the nearby skytrain you can get easily to the big shoppingmalls or you can take the riverferry to the touristique sides.The swimmingpool and fitnessroom is still not ready and breakfast is on the menu (but good choices) but this is certainly a place to come back to.

Ensinnäkin: osoite on väärin. Se pitää olla 48 Soi Sathon 13. Taksi etsi todella kauan ja soitteli ympäriinsä. Aamiainen ei kuulunut hintaan, mutta kävimme kerran sen katsastamassa. Hinta/laatusuhde todella surkea. Safety boxia emme uskaltaneet käyttää, koska siihen ei voinut vaihtaa koodia. Boxi oli lukossa, kun tulimme ja muutaman minuutin kokeilulla löysimme koodin eli 1234. 3 kertaa kysyimme apuja koodin muuttamiseen, mutta osaava hlö koko ajan jossain menossa/ei paikalla. Uima-allasalue tosi pieni ja kattoterassin rakentaminen muutenkin kesken. Sotkuista.

I stayed at H-Residence 3 weeks in the summer 2012 and I can only recommend the hotel to everyone. The staff make sure that everything is okay and if you have any questions they will do everything to help you. When I arrived in a taxi a staffmember immediatly came and took care of the luggage, told me when I could get the room and that they would take care of the luggage untill then. After my early check-in I rested in the sofa in the lobby and they gave me a welcomedrink and a bottle of cold water. I got my room 2 hours before check-in were due so I could get settled in early. The room was a nice size, with a large bed, large flatscreen tv and a big toiletroom. There were a little refrigerator wich they supply with two bottles of water everyday and still is big enough for some food and drinks. Everytime I met a member of the staff from the persons at the receptions to the cleaning lady they were smiling and very friendly. If you have any questions the staff will go a long way to make sure that you got an answer from them. Staying there for 3 weeks I spoke with a lot of the staff and everyone of them spoke good English and one even spoke Norwegian. One member of the staff made a homemade map for me to Ratling (an area outside Bangkok) with a lot of points of interest which made my trip there extra fun. They have room-service everyday untill 23.00 and the menu is placed in the room. I did not use the breakfastroom, but the food from the room-service was great. Just remember to say "not spicy", if you don't like your food to be extra hot. The location is a little of from the mainstreet but you can get a taxi-map at the reception or else you will fast learn the location of the hotel by heart. There are some small street-kitchens in the street on the way to the mainroad but else not that many restaurants nearby. I recommend that you head the other direction and when the "yak" ends at "Soi 11" just turn left and then right. It looks like a little blind "yak" but it actually takes you all the way to another mainroad where there are some more restaurants. There are so many things to learn about the area so everyday you will find new places, shortcuts or street worth using. There is a tuk-tuk service most of the day (timetable at reception and in the elevators) that will take you to the mainstreet near a little supermarket or near the Sky-Train. I walked from the hotel to the Sky-Train nearly everyday wich gives a better feelling for the dailyliving in the streets. The not so great things: - the wifi is sometimes unstable but it is free and at the frontpage you will be told that it is undergoing tests - the hotel is so new that some areas of the hotel still is not finished so sometimes you risk that there is some noicy work going on but it is mostly during daytime when you will be out exploring the town anyway - the roof is not quit finished so it looks very boring but the pool-area is open and fully in function and there is a great wiev from up there - during rushhour some taxi-drivers don't like to go there since the mainstreet can be nightmare but tell them to take you to "Soi 11" and get of by the school and show them the "Yak" I mentioned earlier, and they will get around most of the traffic. Else the easiest way to get to the hotel is to take a taxi to "Soi 11", when you have turned down the Soi from the mainroad look for the big school on the right or the "children crossing the street"-signs in both sides of the road. Then you look up a little and you will se a big yellow sign with the "H" for the Heritages hotels on and when you get closer you will see that it says "H-Residence". Now just follow the narrow yak and a few meters after it turns right you will be at the Hotel. After 3 weeks I never got tired of the area, facilities at the hotel or the staff and I surely would love to come back. :-)

Tromperie sur la marchandise,l'hôtel ne correspond pas à l'image, nous avons été transféré dans un autre hôtel à notre demande car il n'y a pas de piscine et pas de salle de fitness comme indiqué dans le descriptif; de plus l'hotel est encore en travaux donc bcp de nuisance sonore et pour un hôtel neuf, les chambres ne sont pas cleans comme elles le devraient!!!
