Sathorn Grace Serviced Residence

This place could have been terrific, but the front desk staff was either unfriendly or inexperienced. The rooftop pool was incredible, but unfortunately, it was closed during our stay and we were not warned about this when booking the reservation. The construction during our stay was noisy and messy. The room itself was efficient and complete, but the bedding was stained and fixtures were hanging from their screws. Overall, it was disappointing.

We had an excellent stay at the Sathorn Grace. First off you can't beat the price. The Hotel was new, modern, clean, luxurious, and very comfortable. The rooms are huge and have a washer and dryer wich proved to be a total luxury. We had a nice view from the two balconies in our room. The hotel staff was welcoming, courteous, responsive, and helpful. The hotel is located near two sky train stops and they provide a free tuk tuk to take you to them which proved to be very helpful since there was not much on the street the hotel was located on. They have free internet in the lobby which was a huge asset. During our stay the restaurant was not completed due to the recent opening of the hotel but that did not become too big of a problem for us. It's a small hotel with a big value! After an 18 hour flight and full days of sighteseeing in Bangkok it proved to be an Oasis at the end of a long day.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised at the value (we were in 1BR apt for almost 3 weeks)- the room was large and relatively new. The main drawback seemed to be the location, which was a bit out of the way in a neighborhood that didn't have much to offer for visitors. We were also dismayed that they didn't have a crib for our 1 year old son (how is this possible?). Ultimately, we made do with an extra comforter they provided. Ants were another problem we encountered. After a few days, we asked to change rooms because the ant problem got so bad (their original solution was to have the maid spray some bug spray around the room). Ants were everywhere- on our toiletries in the bathroom, on food in the kitchen, and even crawling over my laptop. The second room was free of ants the first day, but they showed up again, and in bigger numbers than in the first room. The maid with a can of Raid is the best they could do. We also had friends staying in another room who had ants as well. I even noticed ants up at the rooftop pool, which is perhaps less troubling because it's outdoors. The biggest disappointment with the Sathorn Grace is the level of professionalism among the staff. We had two incidents- first, we had a manager come to the room with a small white hand towel that she said they couldn't clean and that they were billing us for. It was used to clean up baby food that our son spilled (they don't provide paper towels). She said they cost 500 baht (about $15 US), which was almost certainly an inflated figure. We ultimately settled on 200 baht (about $6 US), but after spending in excess of US $1000 at the place, we were extremely insulted. The other incident involved housekeeping. After we checked out, someone on the housekeeping staff (not sure if she was a manager) chased my wife down to ask her about a missing drinking glass (a housekeeper broke it one day while he was washing the dishes). She also wanted to know how we ended up with an extra bowl and missing fork. Again, the level of training of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. It was completely inappropriate to be interrogated about missing dishes as we awaited our taxi in front of the hotel. I almost expected them to ask if they could go thru our luggage to try to find the missing (presumed stolen?) fork. All in all, we really wanted to like this place, but left with a really bad taste in our mouths. We visit Bangkok often, and won't be returning to this property. There are too many cheap, excellent lodging options in this city to have to settle.

Superb rooms and excellent roof-top pool and fitness centre. Very new and modern and very helpful staff. My only complaint is that the location isn't great for tourists. Factor in at least 200 baht for taxis each day and there are basically no restaurants nearby (the staff couldn't even recommend one). Other than that, it's perfect.

Amazing value. Spotless room with tons of amenities, including a washer/dryer in our room. The only downside is that it's not in the greatest location, but with a Sky Train stop about .5 miles away, getting around wasn't a problem. Highly recommended, especially at the price we got (~$30 USD + tax).

Sathorn Grace was very modern, cozy, and most importantly 24hr; I checked in at 2 in the morning. 7 Eleven a few yards away, vendors, and most tours will pick you up from this hotel. Only downside is that in the mornings you always hear dogs barking and other animals. Other than that its a very nice hotel especially for single travllers, I would definatly stay here again.

The hotel was perfect. Clean. Modern. Guest oriented staff. Free internet. Pleasant 15 minute walk to the sky tram. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Great price, very close to everything, free Tuk Tuk shuttle service, breakfast in room and world class service. The place is brand new and I HIGHLY recommend it
