Great Hotel - Beware of the Food though!
Hotel is completely isolated. Very difficult to get to, but worth it when you get there. However, that also lends itself to the fact that you will be eating many meals at the resort - which means you will 1) be spending much more money than you would traditionally pay in Thailand for comparable food and drink (roughly $3 US for a can of soda at the resort, etc) and you may get FOOD POISONING. I got very severe food poisoning on my last day at the resort after eating my previous three meals there. As I looked through other reviews I saw many other people report that they had food poisoning from the resort as well. They clearly have some problems with food preparation!!! Prior to getting food poisoning, my wife and I were saying we would recommend this hotel to anyone - can't say we can do that now.

Location an obstacle
This is a beautiful hotel that is on the beach but completely surrounded by cliffs. There are only 2 ways to get to the hotel: by boat or the monkey trail. There is no car access. If the ocean is choppy or if there is a storm the resorts cancels the boat transfer service to and from the resort. This leaves only one way to get to the resort - the monkey trail. This is basically a bunch of makeshift planks which helps you climb up the mountain that separtes the resort from the town, Ao Nang. It is treacherous to say the least and definitley not safe. It is however true to its name. There are monkeys all around the trail and the resort for that matter. The monkey trail is steep and the planks not all that sturdy. You definitely have to have a sense of adventure to stay at this resort. My wife and i are young (early to mid 30s) and in good shape and climbing up and down the monkey trail was still a challenge. The resort is beautful and has all the amenities one would expect of a 5 star hotel. However, restaurants and things to do reside in town which makes the commute to from the resort a focal point. Overall its a nice hotel in a stunning location hotel but they really need to figure out access to the hotel. That is why i have an average rating for the location of the hotel. If it were not for the access issue this would be a 5 on the location grade scale.

Lots of good seafood and Indian restaurants in the town, Ao Nang, however, none are close to the pier where the hotel boat drops you off at and it is a good solid mile at least using the monkey trail route.

Only accessible by boat or stiff climb so not suitable for the less able or very young. Other than that fantastic. The rooms have huge shower room (for 2)and great balcony's

Todo muy bien en general, las habitaciones espectaculares y el recinto en general muy bien, lo malo es donde está, tienes q acceder en barco y si el mar esta bravo lo puedes pasar mal.
