The location was far from the port we arrived ,but it was only one minus. large and wonderful room, pool and poolside facility, sauna and other things were great. They have a tour which is planned for only hotel stayers. It was great and profitable.

This is an impressive hotel and I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. However, the hotel is a bit far from the "civilization" and one is almost forced to partake meals in the hotel daily.

Great Getaway
I was here in Krabi for a wedding. This resort was a great combination of everything. The service was amazing. It was very personalized and helpful. The resort was beautiful. The pool is amazing and wraps around the entire hotel. The view from the pool is also breathtaking. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. My only issue with this resort is the location. It was about a 15 minute walk from any eateries, but I would definitely come back to this resort. We loved it. (and their breakfast buffet was delicious)

Walk down the street (250meters). The family of the massage spa owns a long boat, and will give you a private tour to Hong island. It cost us about 100 dollars total for 4 people.

5-stars for a great price
Active couple on holiday + Great service, great pool (largest in Krabi), very large and clean rooms. + Everything works well, even the AC. + Good gym, includes free weights, sauna, turkish bath. + Wide variety of restaurants; only ate at the Thai rest, was good. + Breakfast is very good, but pricey + Fantastic price (at least in 2009). - For people that want to be active outside the hotel (diving, boat tours, jungle tours), it is located a bit far from town; that applies to all other luxury resorts as well. - Stay away from the outside activity booth; the personnel doesn't know anything, and the offers are very limited. You are much better off by going to town, or 500m down the road to one of the tiny tour-agencies. - Easy access to the beach across the road, but beach is not as nice as near other hotels in the area. It is also not integrated into the hotel layout.

Short drive from hotel
For going SCUBA diving, we highly recommend Manta Point. The provider booked through the hotel (Kontiki) has far too large groups (30-50 per boat),

Pool is the biggest I ever been
Pool is the biggest I ever been and nice view and environment, but the pool water need a little more improvement in cleanliness especially on the very edge end of the pool, on the pool-side rooms where there is I believe a water-pump, and noticed some oil-like floating in water and quite dirty in that area. Other than that the hotel is exellent especially for family and children, and I sure will be back in future and hoping pool water is improved.

Very nice, just ridiculous pricing
This hotel is a great resort. The room is very nice and comfortable and spacious, the pool is huge and lovely, the gym is good and there is even a tennis court. The food at the restaurants is top notch, and service is truly nice. The only bothersome thing is that each item or activity is at least 5 if not 6 times the price as anywhere else, to the point of ludicrous, limiting your desire to use their great facilities. As long as their charging $8 for toast doesn't get in the way of your ability to enjoy being there, its very nice. You can go there and just expect that they try and overcharge exhorbitantly and plan to not use all their facilities (pool and gym free though -- but only open from 7am to 7pm!). I really think they'd be a better resort if they only double or tripled the price of everything, and would probably please their guests more and get more out of us... but, overall, very nice. Further north is a bit more scenic, and we just rented a motorbike to scoot around and feel free of the overpriced shuttle that the resort offers. Note - the recommendation below for a friend would really be "depends" - if you can afford even more there are some gorgeous places further up the road, if you are trying to save there are nice cheaper places closer to Aonang...
