Great location, great staff
The Hotel is in a great location, literally a less-than-5-minute walk from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, and even closer to the Arasta Bazaar. There are tons of restaurants on the same street as the Hotel and the nearest cross street. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good selection and hours (7:30 to 10 or 10:30 - I can't remember the end time). The only downside, and this it's not just this hotel that faces this --- because of the predominance of Islam, the announcements for prayer times are loud and 5 times a day - starting just before 6:00 am. You get used to it, though.

Don't miss: Arasta Bazaar; hookah, live music and whirling dervishes at Cafe Mesale, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern, all with in a REALLY short walk from the hotel.

American in Istanbul
Great Experience
Great value for the hotel's cleanliness, good location, extremely friendly staff, and wonderful breakfast. The room itself was not a fancy one but it was clean and adequate. The highlight of this hotel is the top notch breakfasts served on the rooftop. The meals are served in a covered patio and are eaten either under the awning or outside with stunning views of the Sea of Marmara, amidst flowers, greenery, and even shrubs. All on top of the roof. Its locations is somewhat further afield than the hotels right off of SultanAhmet proper, but you are within walking distance from the main street/metro line of the old city, which itself is very near to everywhere you want to go.

Walk down to the sea and back and forth on the seaside walks. Don't miss out on this quiet, safe, and free atraction so short a distance from the hotel. Just walk downhill until you come to the sea, and hit the seafood resturaunte district nearby.

Almost perfect.
Ideal location, very helpful staff, good breakfast, quite comfortable room. If there is a drawback to this hotel, it is that there is no ability to make coffee in the room. A big deal to me: probably not so much to most people. I definitely will stay here again, though.

Up the street is a row of restaurants all hawking to the tourist crowd. Ignore the hustlers out front and look at the menus; there is some good (although probably overpriced) food to be had there.

Friendly Management, Great Location!
We spent 5 nights at the Hotel Darussaade in the historic part of Istanbul. We were treated like family from the time we arrived until we left. The morning breakfast was incredible-homemade pastries and breads, yoghurt & homemade jams, cheese, meats, olives, omelettes, crepes-- really everything for a great start to the day. We stayed in the family suite since we were traveling with our two teenage daughters. The second room was fairly small, but comfortable and clean and the location was perfect! A quick walk to everything in the historic part of Istanbul, and we received daily advise on the best places to see. If you are looking for a boutique hotel with a welcoming personality, this is the place. It was noisy as it's right in town, but there are probably quieter rooms on the upper floors. We loved waking up to the call to prayer from the nearby mosques.

Be sure to negotiate hard in the Grand Bazaar. It can be overwhelming but you need to be stronger than we were, and you can expect to pay half of what they start out with. Keep in mind what you think it's worth to you, not the price they tell you. And enjoy the people! They are very friendly even if you don't buy!

Wir wohnten 4 Nächte in diesem Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, tolle Lage direkt bei der Blauen Moschee. Störend lediglich der Muezzin um 5 Uhr früh!

für Business unterwegs
Preis - Leistung gut!
Sauberes kleines Hotel, wer jedoch 4* erwartet wird enttäuscht. Einzelzimmer sind sehr klein, man kann gerade ums Bett laufen, wenn der Koffer, das WC und der Schrank geschlossen sind. Ebenfalls ist die Isolation schlecht, man hört alles was auf dem Gang gesprochen wird. Leider auch zuviel Lärm, weil in der Zeit mehrere Familien mit Kleinkinder im Hotel waren. Sauberkeit und Personal ist exzellent. Unter dem Strich gesehen ist das Hotel günstig und wer gut schlafen kann findet den Aufenthalt dort sehr angenehm.

Tolle Lage, klein & fein
Familie, aber ausschliesslich Erwachsene. Wir genossen die zentrale Lage, unweit der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten Istanbuls. Sehr freundlicher "Staff", vernünftiges Frühstücksbuffet und ordentliche Zimmer mit aufmerksamem Service.

A conseiller sans hésitation
accueil très professionnel, bonne situation car proche des grands sites, propreté ,disponibilité du personnel et calme....sauf pour les chambres en rez de chaussée. un point faible : la taille de notre salle de bains alors que nous avions réservé une double de luxe. points fort s: le petit déjeuner et la terrasse et l'amabilité du personnel. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir mais en demandant une chambre en étage.

Regardez les menus et fiez vous à votre intuition. Les turques ne sont pas avares de conseils mais ils sont rarement désintéressés. En tout cas ils sont amicaux et pleins d'humour si vous parlez anglais de préférence.
