Not a Four Star Hotel...way to noisy
The Hotel was located in a great spot and a close walk to everything. It was way to noisy and we couldn't find a room that the TV's worked in? We thought we were getting a nicely decorated room with a flat screen T.V. but it was not what was advertised on this website.

Fair enough
Good experience at this hotel. Everything was clean. Rooms are small (as they are everywhere). I would stay here again and recommend it to someone else.

Happy we stayed there
Our flight from London was delayed, so we arrived just about at check in time. The hotel lobby was tastefully appointed. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were only spending two days in Edinburgh and the hotel gladly (and safely) stored our luggage the 2nd day while we visited the sights. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and the bathroom was very clean. We'd definitely stay there again.

Despite it's location near several
Despite it's location near several pubs, it was surprisingly quiet inside. Some of the towels were a little dirty with black stain marks. The staff member who handled check-in was rather cold upon arrival and did not appear to want to be there. The restaurant however had a great atmosphere and great coffee. A little inconvenient to run outside 2 buildings down the street to use the facilities - gym and swimming pool.

Nice hotel in good location
I arrived tired from the US and it was no problem to check in early. When I got to Scotland, I found that my cell phone didn't work. The front desk allowed me to make local calls to contact those whom I was visiting. Free internet on the second floor was a great convienence. I plan to stay at Apex City again.

Lots of pubs in the immediate area. Regarding getting to th ehotel from the rail station, take a cab from Waverly Station - it's a short drive but a tough walk.

Great location and value!
This hotel is hardly 4-star quality, but still a very good value for the special Orbitz rate given its location and helpful staff. The rooms are small for two people, but one usually doesn't spend a lot of time in the room on vacation. The television had only five channels, not good for winding down after a great day of sightseeing. The location is outstanding. Almost everything is walking distance! There is a little noise from the Grassmarket street, but not enough to bothersome. The breakfast is very good and well worth the money.

Excellent Location
The hotel is nice...slightly above average in room size, decor, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Just a short walk to the Royal Mile...lots of restaurants, shops and bars right on Grassmarket.

Solid choice depending on the price
The rooms were pleasant and well appointed, but our particular room was a bit stuffy. (Fortunately, the room did come equipped with a fan, which did help substantially.) The linens and bed were quite comfortable, and the rubber duck in our bath was a nice touch. The hotel is right across from Victoria Street, which has some of our favorite shops in Edinburgh.

Apex City Hotel
Great hotel in an amazing location. Very friendly and helpful staff, they spent over 20 minutes helping us figure out the best way to the airport (turns out we had the name of the airport wrong which complicated things). The hotel room overlooked the street which might be a drawback for some as you could hear the noise down below. There are about 10 bars within a five minute walk so the area attracts a lot of traffic. The Royal Mile and other great attractions are all within walking distance.
