- Travel From the Airport There are a number of options to arrive in Edinburgh from the Airport either by taxi, by Airport Link double decked bus to Haymarket or by Airport Shuttle bus which will stop at the hotel. From Haymarket Station Haymarket station is Edinburgh's 2nd Railway station and is only 2 minutes walk from the hotel. By Car The simplest way to find the hotel is to head towards Haymarket Station. If driving on the A8 from Glasgow the Apex European Hotel is 500 yards before the railway station. Once you reach Haymarket head for Haymarket Terrace with the Railway station on the left hand side. Continue along the road for 500 yards and the Apex European Hotel sits on the right hand side just before Donaldson House which is the large building within the high railings.

A reasonable hotel in a good location.
A reasonable hotel in a good location. Room was on the small side but if only looking for somewhere to sleep it is fine. Staff were helpful and the restaurant was more than adequate.

Great location, friendly staff, clean ro
We were touring Edinburgh and just stayed the last night before departing. The hotel was quite modern, staff was helpful, and the room was pretty quiet even though it was on a main street. We didn't avail ourselves of a gym or pool--I don't even know it it had either. The location was great--close to a major train station and bus stops. I'd certainly go there again and would recommend it to others.

Everything is good, friendly and helpful stuff, if only the lift is working for the 3 nites we were there. It was quite a hassle to carry our luggage up and down the 3 floors!

1st time in Scotland
friendly hotel in a friendly town
We enjoyed our stay a lot. The welcome at the hotel was friendly, as was the service at the restaurant. The breakfast was tasty, and dinner was good quality for price. The Haymarket terrace side was at the time of our visit a bit of a construction site, but on another side of the hotel there's a beautiful old school building. A few hundred meters away it is possible to go walking or jogging along the river. The hotel is located a bit off (some 10-15 mins walk) the old town and most touristy areas, so choosing a more central hotel may be a good option if this bothers you, but we found the location quite convenient, and the surroundings pleasant.

When we arrived we were allocated
When we arrived we were allocated a room on the 3rd floor. It was like a sauna. They gave us a fan for the night to see how we got on, they kindly changed our room the next day. Apartantly the 3rd & 4th floors they can't control the temperature. The bus service into town from here is very good although Princess Street is closed off because of tram works.

About half an hour by foot to
About half an hour by foot to Princess St / Edinburgh Castle or 10 minutes by bus. Spacious and clean room with great bathroom incl. huge shower. Large flat screen TV in the room as well as a big desk. Relatively cheap international phone calls. Free broadband internet access from the room. PC & printer opposite reception can be used for free by guests. 24 hours in room dining available. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely consider staying in the Apex again when returning to Edinburgh!

There is no air conditioning in
There is no air conditioning in the rooms. At the time of our stay the lift was not working. The reception staff were all very helpful.
