Superb city centre hotel
Great base for Edinburgh city centre activities. Short stroll from Modern Art Galleries and Water of Leith in one direction and city centre in other. Lovely New Town location. Room was spacious, well appointed, nice decor and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Didn't have meals in hotel apart from breakfast which was plentiful and very tasty. Definitely one to go back to.

This was a good quiet location,
This was a good quiet location, a short walk into the Centre. I didn't eat there in the evenings, but breakfasts were cetainly fine (the salmon was particularly good).

Green Features Not Always Stellar
The rooms were great and the style was fun... This hotel names all of its "green" features - which I think are admirable - but what "energy savings" means in this case is NO air conditioning. Edinburgh is generally cool - but the summer can be high heat and humidity. There was no method for air circulation...no ceiling fan or mechanical exhaust - it was stifling. Hard to rest in a hot sticky room.
