Overview
The Scotsman has been converted from the Scotsman Newspaper's baronial offices into one of the most stylish hotels in the city. The hotel is just a minute's stroll from both Princes Street and the Royal Mile. The hotel brings together the efficiency of the 21st Century with careful design, attention to the comfort of our guests and the very best in Scottish hospitality. There are novel features throughout the building, resulting in a unique experience. The oak floored Drawing Room with its ornate fireplace, original art and lavish seating is an ideal setting in which to enjoy morning coffee, a cocktail before dinner or a nightcap. Escape, a private members' health club, is located within the hotel and entrance is complimentary to hotel guests. Extending over three levels, the 20,000 sq. ft. club boasts a 16.2 meters (53.5 Feet) stainless steel swimming pool, spa pool, sauna, solarium and steam rooms, Arctic & Tropical showers, 60 station air-conditioned cardio-vascular and resistance gymnasium with aerobics studio classes and a cafe bar. The spa area with five therapy suites, offers a diverse range of beauty and health treatments and a relaxation room. Funky, cutting edge design, impeccable individual service and state-of-the-art health and fitness technology make escape a unique facility. North Bridge Brasserie is open from 11am, the architecture alone is stunning, from the original marble pillars and oak paneling to the contemporary steel and glass bar and staircase. Framing the room is a gallery of small tables, allowing you to spy on the world, whilst enjoying an intimate meal. Car Parking - The hotel offers a 30% discount at the local NCP Car Park situated at Market Street only a 5 - 10 minute from the hotel. We suggest dropping of any luggage at the hotel in advance and then parking the car. Very pricy, but a terrific location. Staff was very helpful and the room was quite good. Bed was comfortable. Room did not have AC, but a table fan was provided that solved the problem.

All main tourist attractions, shopping areas and business districts are easily accessible from North Bridge. The main Edinburgh Waverley train station is situated under North Bridge and is only two minutes from the hotel.
