Great hotel, spoilt by pricing error
I cannot knock the hotel facilities or location of which both are great. The only thing that spoilt our stay was that there was a discrepancy with the original price I paid (back in January) and the price I was told I had been charged after my stay in September. When I questioned this overpayment on my behalf I was told ‘Oh it’s just the wrong price that has been put on the receipt, sir’ and then the hotel staff just walked away. I’m not sure that would have happened had I been undercharged! Quite an expensive hotel given what I’d paid, reasonable if I had been charged what the invoice said! Shame really.

Lovely breakfast at a place called Cafe Metro opposite the Arndale Centre at a fraction of the cost of the breakfast in the hotel.

Grrrrreat hotel
After the hotel changed it's name for the second time in two years, I wasa little concerned some of the standards would have slipped along the way but thankfully not. The hotel looks great, as do the rooms. The drinks in the bar were good if rather expensive. The only doenside wass the painful 6 phone calls I made trying to arrange three seperate rooms on three sperate bookings, so that we could stay in adjacent rooms. They got two of us together, but not the third. That aside, I would highly reccommend.

pre-christmas get away
This is a great hotel for exploring Manchester. It is located right beside Picadilly station and only minutes away from the shops. The rooms were big and bright, the only let down was that the bed was uncomfortable and I didn't get much sleep. My partner and I probably had the best hotel breakfast we have ever had at the hotel - the range of foods on offer was vast and the quality of food and cooking was second to none.

super - I would come back. The breakfast room was a little overcrowded - had to queue up. And no capuchino was served on demand - "machine broken..." - what ever.

Lovely Hotel and Location
We got checked in before 3pm and the room was very nice and clean. The Mac computer with free internet also which came in very handy when booking our tour to Old trafford. The staff were helpful and polite. If you did not get breakfast included in room price you will find it a bit pricey 15,99 pound for a fry up. All round good experience.

Excellently located hotel - 30
Excellently located hotel - 30 seconds' walk from PIccadilly ststaion and I was in the door, and checking in. The room was well serviced, although the walls needed a lick of paint. The iMac media centre was useful and easy to use. The wifi signal was slightly weak, and so my laptop struggled with some web surfing, but got there in the end. Pretty good, averagely priced food, and the staff were helpful in securely storing my luggage throughout the day of my checkout - but the location is the main raw for this hotel.

Hotel had recently changed its
Hotel had recently changed its name without letting us know, therefore we walked past a couple of time looking for it (booked as City Inn). Would have been nice to have received an email before our stay to confirm the new name. Other than that, hotel was lovely and very good location, only a few minutes from the train station and within walking distance to the centre of Manchester. Would stay there again (now we know what it is called!)

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
There are 3 free bus routes in the city. 2 of them leave from the train station (right outside the hotel) and visit all the major attractions in town.

high quality city centre hotel
in manchester for a charity meeting. putting a two night stay around it let us eat superbly in chinatown and in print works and see new film 'the kings speech'. this plus quality of room breakfast and lounge bar made it a great winter mini-break and we will be back and/or at other hotels in the group later in the year.
