Gardens Hotel

Perfect location. Needs a complete renovation. Good price for its location however the room walls were damp and covered in mould. The entire room smelled damp and unfortunatly brought down the standard of our trip.

Very Dissapointed,,requested high floor with window, but i get first floor room 101'.very uncomfortable because the guy At reception said to me,will keep an eye on me,,very uncomfortale..i stayed at the hotel before,, but the staff at the time were very nice..i won't go back there again..

I was really very pleasantly surprised by the Gardens Hotel. Very centrally placed in the city and very cheap - I was ready for 'rough'! the experience was good from the first friendly but very professional greeting at reception through to fast check out. Room was comfortable, clean. well equipped and quiet - despite being att he front of the hotel facing a major city junction. Well done Gardens Team!

Great location, free internet, cheap, small but clean roooms, noise can be a problem.

staff very helpful. pity there is no restaruant, but then you are close to all shops and theatres,

After reading few negative stories, was slightly concerned! I was pleasantly surprised with everything in fairness. Arrived at 800 in morning and had no problem getting early check in. The room itself was basic but perfect. Bathroom wasnt great but it done the job. Definetly using here again

The staff was friendly and the location was perfect for someone like me who did not know Manchester and needed quick access to the train station. The room was below average. My shower water only ran cool to freezing cold, so I only used the bath tub, which did have hot water. The wireless internet did not work. Since I was only staying two nights I did not think it was worthwhile to mention these things. The walls are paper thin and it was kind of cold in the room. On the plus side, room service was quick and the food was not too bad. I think I would have had a better value for a hotel in the US for the price.

This hotel is great for the location. What you lose in supuberb cleanliness you make up for being right in the heart of the city. It had a shower, free wi-fi, two beds...all you need for a quick rest to go back out in the city. They provided fresh clean towels everyday. The only thing it lacked would be found with spots on the carpet and comforters, sheets not changed while we were there or the view. Wish it had air conditioning or a fan. While it is not Jury's Inn, it is a very friendly hotel, excellent and helpful staff and, again, a perfect location.

There was no hot water when I arrived and this wasn't fixed until 9am the next day. The bath was filthy and the cold tap didn't work. The noise from the street (drunken ramblings from the local crazies) drifted up into the rooms. The only positive was that the hotel was conveniently located near the train station and Piccadily Square. But it was definitely overpriced.

I booked a single room - the room was very large with three single beds it was the end of November and through my 4 nights stay the radiator in the room would not work - I'm a heating engineer by trade so I know when a heating system is not turned on and this heating system was off - I phoned reception to explain the room was very cold - about an hour later they delivered a very small electric radiator to my room which was not really powerful enough for a room of this size so I had to keep my clothes on all the time I was in the room and had to get into bed as soon as possible. The room amenities where well worn and needed some maintenance updates and there was the stench of smoke in the room some one must have been smoking in the room on a regular basis - the only thing I would praise about the room was the view of the main street Xmas lights as this room was on the front of the hotel (to be continued)
