A Nice Little Break
We had a very nice overnight stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very nice, with a good selection of english and continental breakfast options. The location was ideal for us, with plenty of shops, bars, and the Arndale Shopping Center, well within walking distance. The NCP Grand car park is next door, very easy to find, and can be booked on line to avoid any worry in busy times.

Worth it
Definitely worth the money. The room was perfect, very clean and very tidy. The staff were incredibly helpful and were very polite. It was the second time I'd stayed there and both times I found the hotel to be worth staying at and I would recommend it to anyone.

Mr Weekend City Breaker
Weekend in the city
Compact room (not ideal if you are a little on the large side!). Everything clean, good sized flat screen TV, digital safe. Air con/heating completely controllable, but a bit noisy. Close up view of decor within bathroom revealed a bit of attention needed (not nice to see untidy, peeling bathroom sealant when you're relaxing in the bath). Could do with air extraction within bathroom. Staff in reception were professional, but in no way welcoming - completely lacking any warmth or friendliness. Didn't stay in for breakfast...much better options (& value for money) within restaurants close by in the city.

Shoebox Sized Rooms
Being used to American sized hotel rooms, the rather stark and shoebox sized rooms were quite shocking. The staff worked with us (and were so nice it was almost unbelievable) to find us a room we were happy with. Breakfast is overpriced at ten pounds. Walk over the road for a freshly cooked English cafe breakfast for 3.99 GBP. Did not see the leisure center. Do not miss eating in China Town, which is located a five minute walk away.

US to UK Holiday
Beautiful, full-service hotel in ideally central Manchester location -- minutes walk to mall, food, train, bus. Super informative & helpful staff. Room comfort was only slight because it was so compact, and we are spoiled to so much more space as Americans. However, I will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in Manchester AND will choose Thistle Hotels wherever possible the next time I'm anywhere overseas.

Good room [...]
Had I paid the full room rate I would be leaving disappointed, but at the discounted [...] rate I felt good value for money. Nicely decorated hotel, decent sized room, clean, comfortable etc... good extras availabel with the room thoguh I didn't take advantage of them.Bang in the centre of manchester, so perfect for my needs.
