Disappointed and shocked!!!

-Check in took a long time and they were NOT friendly -Walls of the room had stains on it -There was mold in the bathroom -There was no room service menu in the room -Carpet was stained -The breakfast buffet was passable -The restaurant staff was NOT responsive and everything took a long time

Badly Managed Holiday Inn

Another example of a good chain w bad mgt. Tried to cancel room a week in advance and they would not accept. I hope everyone will boycott this hotel in the future.

Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport

THis is another once nice and hospitable US hotel that is being run by Indians who have no understanding of US Hotel Protocol. Tried to cancel a room a week in advance from an [...]reservation and they refused. In addition, Holiday Corporate would not overide the decision either. I travel 150 nights per year and have never had a issue like this before. In my opinion this places Holiday Inn Birmingham in the the 3rd tier hotels of the US. It only takes once for me to learn my lesson.

NASTY FAMILY OUTING

GOT STUCK ON ELEVATOR FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS. WAS TOLD BY FRONT DESK BREAKFAST WAS FREE NOT TRUE, CHARGED FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING DRINKS FOR BREAKFAST. FOUND 2 ROACHES IN BATHROOM.

Early flight

The hotel itself is what you would expect, however the location is horrible! While filling the rental car with gas across the street from the hotel a police officer approached me to inquire if everything was ok. The officer then waited and followed me to the hotel parking lot to ensure my safety. I will book a hotel further from the airport next time!

Road Trip In Route

Driving from Dallas to Atlanta and needed a one night room along the way. Easy to get to off of the highway. Staff was perfect however once you begin your journey at the elevators you notice that the facility is not being taken care of. Depressing dirty hallway carpet and walls on third floor. Carpet in room was very dirty as well. Good thing we had our slippers.

Not worth the money

Check out seemed to last forever since the only people in front of me wanted to change who was paying and the one now paying was already sitting on the shuttle bus and had to be asked to come back to the desk. I finally stopped the manager and asked him to check me out which was done in about 10 seconds and the other people were still there!

Receipts for travel

The hotel was fine but this was for business and it is impossible for us to get a detailed receipt which we need for billing from either Orbitz or the hotel. I would not use Orbitz again because of this reason.
