Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Carlsbad

We booked last minute for a long weekend at Legoland. This place had a studio suite available. The furnishings were very nice, sheets were soft, staff great, close to Legoland. Only complaint I had was the AC didn't work in the first room. They moved us to another room, and although that was somewhat better, it was still pretty warm considering we had it cranked up and it was February. Hate to think how it would be in the summer. Loved the full kitchenette. Nice to come back and make a simple meal for the kids after a long day at the park.

Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. The building is in need of maintenance. The air conditioning system is shot. The first room the air conditioning system didn't work. The second room had a soggy carpet from the leaking air conditioning system. The third room smelled musty from the air conditioning system. The furniture and walls are all beat up. They wouldn't let me cancel my reservation over the weekend because the only manager who can approve the cancelation was out on the weekends? There are plenty of other hotels in the area. The Rancho Del Oro Marriott down the street is new and in good condition.

Our family decided to take a road trip with my 2 year old son and 10 year old newphew to enjoy Legoland. We decided to stay at the Residence Inn at Carlsbad since it had a full kitchen and was very close to Legoland. I have to say, i was worried at first but i was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness & hospitality that the hotel offered. As soon as we got there the night manager was very courteous and friendly. our room was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen and living space. bedroom was tight but still worked for us. The only complaint about the room was the beds were really uncomfortable. the free breakfast buffet was awesome. food was good quality and plenty of variety for this 5 month pregnant momma and my fam. we were able to get a shuttle ride to Legoland and Sealife aquariam very easily. Ryan, our driver always seemed to be readily available and gave us information of local places to go. the Carlsbad outlet was worth checking out. The only other complaint i have is the staffs food recommendations for Chinese Delivery and Flipping Pizza was awful. the food at both places were so bad, our newphew wouldn't even eat the pizza. other then that, we were very pleased with the hotel, the staff and definitely their breakfast buffet. i would recommend for any families needing a place to stay while enjoying Legoland.

We took our two grandsons to Legoland in Carsbad Ca. [...] booked us into the residents Inn. We loved our room really it was a suite. The whole family swam in the pool. The breakfast was a full buffet of hot items, but, The biggest surprise was the buffet dinner each night with wine and beer! The first night it was spaghetti the boys each had two plates!next night Mexican Tostados.Think of the money we saved by not having to go out to dinner each night. and Grandma and grandpa loved the free wine and beer!

My husband and I were in town for a wedding, this was our first time in Carlsbad, the hotel location was close to the main attractions. We enjoyed our rooms,it was spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable,and the breakfast which included waffles, eggs, sausages, potatoes, etc. was about average. The food at the hotel was okay, however, I think it needs to be higher quality food and more variety.

I always stay at the Residence Inn Carlsbad for business and this time, I extended my stay over the Memorial day weekend and brought my daughter. We enjoyed things about the hotel that I usually don't get to appreciate when I am on business - the pool, the great location, the later breakfasts (still hot) on the weekends. And, I am a big fan of the staff at this hotel - they always treat me well and remember me each time I stay.
