Hollywood Historic Hotel

THIS WAS NOT AT ALL THE PLACE IT DESCRIBES IN THE DESCRIPTION. IT ISN'T CLOSE TO A BEACH, IT IS IN A BAD AREA OF HOLLYWOOD, IT IS EXTREMELY LOUD AT NIGHT. THERE IS 2 PEOPLE RUNNING THE HOTEL. THEY TELL YOU NOT TO TAKE A BATH BECAUSE THE BATH TUBS ARE "TOO OLD"! THEY ARE RUDE AND BARELY SPEAK ENGLISH! ON OUR SECOND NIGHT WE WOKE UP WITH A COCKROACH IN OUR BED! WHEN I TOLD THE OWNER HE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME EVEN THOUGH WE KILLED IT AND LEFT IT THERE SO HE WOULD SEE! HE SAID THE MOST HE COULD DO WAS GIVE ME A 20 DOLLAR BILL! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! THERE ISN'T EVEN AN ELEVATOR OR EMPLOYEES TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR BAGS UP THE STAIRS

Checked in and checked out within 10 minutes. Absolutely out-dated and gross!

Although the location was great, the stay and comfort of the bed was, in my book, definitely not worth the skimpy price. We were grateful for directions to a certain destination, however, the were wrong. There was no phone in the room and only one outlet for our 2 phone chargers. The bathroom was as big as the toilets on an airplane and the elevator was out so we had to hike it up some very steep stairs. When we entered our room, it was stuffy and smelled of mildew. The bed was a king size mess. No comfort whatsoever. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you need somewhere to "crash" for an hour or so.

Well was expecting a bit more out of this hotel for what was advertised, they basically have one staff member watching door day and night with no security what so ever, people are free to park and enter the hotel as they please. Signs around the hotel advising you not to leave valuables in your room doesnt help the situation either, good job it was just a place for me and my wife to lay our heads for two nights. Any longer and i may have started to feel a little nervous, esspecially with some of the characters walking around locally. Best o pay a bit more and book somewhere near or on the Hollywood Boulevard, you will be better of for it.

I had the reservation for 4 nights, I reached late and found my room was soldout, they were curtious to call a neighbouring hotel which is double the price of what i booked and 3 miles away, and the front office was not sure if the cost is going to be covered by them. Next day I wasted a lot of time to checkout and check in to this hotel. The Owner was arrogant, he made me wait 40 minutes, as I was told he will compensate me, He said a no for any kind of discount and started reading out the Hotel rules book!!!!!! No Elevator, No Microwave, too narrow closet, No Iron.

I wouldn't want to stay at this hotel. I saw a few cockroaches and the hotel is not returning back my deposit. Just read carefully what you sign.

I went with my sister. It was worn down and didn't have an elevator, ice machine or phone in the room. The room smelled like body odor and didn't feel very clean. When we came home the evening we were staying there, our tv had been turned on, and we didn't do it. And the topping on the experience was finding a roach the size of a mouse scurrying from my luggage!

I came to attend summer school at a local college. Thiis hotel was a $25 cab ride from the train station (I was told it would be $10-15) My room was on the third floor. There is NO elevator nor are there any staff to help wsith luggage. Having a disability made it difficult with 3 trips up and down the stairs. The carpeting was dirty in the stairs and hall. The room had nNO phone and I had to pull the bed out from the wall to have a plug to use for my laptop. The coffee pot was in pieces and I had to put it together to make coffee. The next day, they called a shuttle for me to go to car rental. The cost was to be $55 and use of credit card permitted. When I got there it was $65. and cahs only with the driver raining his voice. He left so fast and did not give me a receipt. ele

we had to call Ortiz custmer service on Oct 13th,Thursday night to cancel all reservation at Hollywood Hist, Hotel in West Hollywood. The carpet was mildew and stained so bad it was horrible. there's no elevators or no telephones in the hotel rooms. the beds were so nasty and dirty, there's no way you could lay on them. the bed wasn't made up for anyone to sleep in, it was unbelieveable!!!! Please stop referral people to that horrible hotel...people are over paying for what they receive..its worst than Motel -6...

The staff was really friendly and helpful. The location was fine and the room had some charm. The downside was we were eaten up by bed bugs. We would not recommend this hotel due to that fact and there is no elevator. We are still in the process of trying to get a refund.
