Howard Johnson Los Angeles/Near Convention Center

Room was outdated and there was not enough light in the room. But the staff were really friendly and there was free breakfast (waffles, toast, juice, coffee). It was okay, you get what you pay for. The hotel is conveniently close to the subway station and theres lots of good k-bbq restaurants nearby.

Room had roaches, bathroom sucks. Rooms smell filthy. Definitely would not recommend to a friend.

Parking is a pain in the butt; I should have known then this was going to be a bad stay.There security is unfriendly and will harass for walking in the hall ways not cool when you have cams all over. Most of the staff can’t understand what you want little English to be spoken; so how can they help you with all the problem the have at this location? The room that I was in felt unwelcoming and could have had bed bugs. The security lock was broken and everything just looks dirty along with many other things. This is what it should be listed under BS because the building is so run down. Hallways or smelly, rooms sink is un-sanitized and very old and chipping out. The bathroom seems to be cleaned only by wiping it out with any detergent or cleaning chemicals from the Dollar Tree. The breakfast was simple with not so bad coffee. I just want to inform you to stay away.

The lobby is where the bed should be only clean part compared to to the floors the smell, the paint on the walls, the bathroom in the room and the tub was nasty so stay away and save your time and money.

Rooms were bad they smelled like mold when you walked in. Tub was clogged, they gave us a different room and that one was clogged also. one can fell the floor is unlevel. the toilet handle came off. if i didn't know better i would say there was bed bugs. Wifi is no good. i guess like the saying goes you get what you pay for. i know better next time.

This hotel sucks. When you go in the room it smells damp. The shower was clogged. they gave us a differant room thet one was clogged also. floors were unlevel. Toilet handle came off. never again will i stay a Howard Johnson.

The room was clean, comfortable and has adequate space for the price. However, the carpet in the halls was old and worn out, some lights in the elevator buttons were not working, the breakfast room is very tight, the remote control for the TV would only move down the channels, not up, the TV itself is an old analog model and the volume was too low. However, the hotel is being remodeled and when that is finished it could be much better. It is located within Korea Town, two blocks of a Metro station.

We received a room with a serious problem of insects (tiny red head flies) that made our first 2 nights stay very uncomfortable. We ask front desk 3 times to check and solve the problem, until they changed us to a different room without those flies. Apart form that disgusting problem with the flies, location is good and value for money was good. For staying in LA without a car is a good option, since you can move by metro and buses, to and from the hotel.

Good clean rooms, refrigerator, blow dryer, free breakfast, free parking, close to lots of LA attractions.
