Wilshire Grand Los Angeles

the wilshire grand was nice, but definitely not as nice as some of the other cheaper hotels. The room wasn't that great. the bathrooms were tiny, we had two full beds and slept seperately, the little loveseat and chairs were nice but not necessary. probably a good place for business travelers, but not tourists. there was no place to get coffee in the hotel, had to go pay $5 at starbucks. downtown l.a. is not the best place to stay if you are siteseeing and vacationing. the cheaper hotels, usually have refigerators in the rooms and sometimes even coffee makers and seem much more comfy. i was not impressed with the wilshire grand at all and would not recommend it to other vacationers.

My friend and I were set up in a deluxe room ... two separate bathrooms, two separate closets. We loved it! It was nice not having to share a bathroom, and we could spread our beauty products out without having to worry about giving each other enough space. The room was spacious, with a nice sitting area, separate desk and vanity. The beds were comfortable and I applaud the Wilshire Grand's green plan ... a nice approach to conserving and protecting the environment.

The Wilshire Grand was gorgeous upon entering..in a great safe area..close to all amenities..we found it clean and the rooms were kept clean. However the hotel is in great need of updating..the furniture is old and run down. We have never slept in a more uncomfortable bed it was like sleeping on cardboard on the floor. We had to ask for new pillows and an extra blanket...we were not able to control the air and found it too be quite cold in the room. The rooms were made bigger by eliminating a wall in each of the rooms in the whole hotel so we had two bathrooms two closets etc.. The room was old and musty smelling and the carpet was pretty bad..damaged with a lot of stains and ripped in areas. The pool was nice and heated as well and open 24 hours. We had plenty of towels and the showers worked great. No complaints on the staff or check-in. Our check-in time was 3:00 however we arrived around 1:00pm and were able to check in. Our experience in one of the restaurants was excellent no complaints there. Overall our experience was good other than the hotel needs a lot of updating which I'm sure with that will come new beds.

this Hotel was very comforable and I enjoyed the double size room with two bath rooms. It was a very good value.

The hotel was relatively nice, but some of the floors are badly in need of renovation. We were initially given a room on the 5th floor that was apparently decorated 30+ years ago. After complating, we were moved to the 16th floor where the rooms are newly renovated and relatively nice.

Although the Wilshire Grand is obviously a prominent hotel in downtown LA, it's not one that I will return to. Although the room itself was large, there wasn't anything extra in it such as a sofa or coffee table, just a desk/vanity area with a chair. The beds were the hardest, most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on, my daughter actually slept on the floor and was just as comfortable (or uncomfortable) as we were. The TV was so small I couldn't even see it well from my bed. The bathroom was literally the size of a small closet, you could barely move around in there. The decor was rather drab and cold feeling, no warmth or coziness at all. Other than the room itself, there wasn't much that I cared for. The pool area was pretty but there was no service out there for drinks, food, etc. that we ever saw even though there were tables set up; the bar area that was just inside next to the pool area never seemed to be open. Parking was $30 per day which seemed exhorbitant to me.

I was very pleased with my visit. The hotel was in excellent location near to important places and restaurants. My bedroom was spacious with view to the pool and outdoor spaces to relax without the street noise. The personal of the hotel was excellent.

The Wilshire Grand Hotel was conveniently located in downtown LA, affordable and well apponted. Surrounded by shopping and upscale businesses, most major downtown buildings are in walking distance. Accomodations are elegant and well kept with convenient parking. Convenient access from major freeways.

Good place if you want to sray near LA dowtown

The Wilshire Grand was very nice and the room was very comfortable. Our overall experience at the Wilshire Grand was very positive. The hotel is a non-smoking property, which we appreciated. While our room was clean and fresh, the hallways leading to our room had a musty smell like a dirty ashtray.
