Great location, great hotel!!
The hotel staff were fabulous. The concierge was very helpful, not only by telling the best way to get to places but also the best places for us to visit. The restaurants were wonderful within the hotel. The staff who looked after luggage were wonderful. The rooms were neat, clean and very spacious. Overall it was a great hotel, especially for my family and I who come from Australia and were not familiar with L.A at all. It was a wonderful experience for us.

Use the metro system for $5.00 a day unlimited travel. the Grand Wilshire is right across the road from the metro station. You are able to visit many places including Venice Beach, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Old Pasadena.

Start of USA Holiday of a lifetime.
Great acommodation. Couple visiting USA. Was given 8th floor (two queen beds) asked for better room. Received king room at 12th floor. Great facilities. Although wireless internet was bad in the room. Better in Lobby.

Easily accessable to Universal Studios and Hollywood via train across the road at Metro Station. (about 20 minutes) Bus to both Santa Monica (bus 10) and Disneyland (760) Great Location for stay in LA. From LAX to Hotel either blue bus ($17 per person or $3 bus to Figarou and Wilshire)

Definitely 5 star. Large rooms
Definitely 5 star. Large rooms and very comfortable. In the heart of downtown LA. Metro subway & bus transport virtually at the door, for all directions. We got an excellent weekend rate.

Downtown price for Downtown Noise
Stayed the night with my grandparents. Close to the convention center as expected and yes, clean. I understand the street noise, the hotel is next to the 110 freeway but c'mon... the laughing from the room across the hall and someone sneezing in the room next door seemed pretty loud at all hours of the night. I also felt like the room was cramped, and the halls are narrow, so what it was a standard 2 bed room. For us, it prob would have been better to do room service for breakfast for convenience of time and well prob cheaper. $4.50 for A cup of black coffee? really? Expect to pay for valet parking (you have to, no self park) $35 for the night. Over all, I think I would have enjoyed staying a few miles further at a Comfort Inn or Marriott.

If you're planning on being out early the next morning and not sure where to have breakfast it might save you time by just getting room service. Just remember to place your order on the door (hanging menu) before 2am.

Wow...Great Hotel...
Great Hotel...Great Location...Great Service..Great Price...We booked Juniour suite..Room was spacious..20" * 22" ..32" flat screen TV...but bath rooms are small but good one.5 mins chck-in.Book supershuttle from airport to hotel.Metro just across the hotel.Pleasant stay.

Old style at the Wilshire Grand
The Wilshire Grand has a perfect location, just in the middle of downtown LA and close to 7th Street Metro underground service. The lobby of the hotel is as grand as it can be, but there it stops. The rooms are very dated, old plain stuff with awkward green color designs and the bathroom is so dated that all chrome polish of the water taps are gone. On the positive side it's got an LCD television, coffee maker and the rooms are very clean and the location is a big plus if you want to stay downtown LA. However it's not worth the title of Grand anymore.

Short walk from hotel
Buy a $5 Metro day pass. It is valid for all bus and underground services to see LA and even to Santa Monica beach. The underground station 7th Street Metro is just across the street. It's a bargain.

Great location & price, so so service
Overall the experience is rather positive. The only thing that mars it is that the hotel gave regular rooms when checking in. Correcting it to suites, which we ordered took another 3 hours as the hotel staff wouldn't just trust the Orbitz reservation printout and had to call to confirm.

Nice updated room.
Very nice staff, they upgraded us for free, because we stay there about once a month. Super close to all the necessary areas we need to go.
