A great way to spend a long weekend
Excellent location, easy access from highways, reasonable parking, excellent atmosphere, clean rooms, hospitable staff. Good bargain as well.

A great local weekend getaway
It's always a pleasure staying here. Off peak weekends are the best. Great rate! Great location! Great staff! This review may be dated January 2012 but it's really January 2013. This website needs to be updated! Can't choose 2013!

Very close to restaurants, city center, and shopping . Friendly staff and self parking or valet option is a plus. Have been coming here for years and will continue:)

Nice weekend getaway
Staff was very helpful and friendly. It walkinf distance to a lot of restaurants which my Fiance and I loved.

It works.
The hotel is fine but the shower was a mess - the curtain wouldn't go completely around and there was a ledge below the two shower heads so the water from the shower would collect on the ledge and run onto the floor. And I mean run onto the floor! At first we thought it was our fault so the next time every effort was made to keep the shower water in the shower but it didn't work. We started taking baths instead. The room was nicely appointed, comfortable bed but nothing really that made one feel it was all that different from other hotels that are less expensive.

Lots of good dining choices within walking distance and then just a short drive takes one to South Pasadena which is lovely and some great dining there too.

Good location; so so hotel
The staff at the front desk was great. But though this place was allegedly remodeled, my room had stains on the carpet and looked a bit worn--[...] I ordered room service the first night I was there and both the food and the service was great. But their bills already include an 18% gratuity, so I didn't tip on top of that. The next night I ordered room service again, got the same waiter, and this time he was clearly put-out that I hadn't tipped extra to him. He was incredibly rude the 2nd night, slammed my tray down on the dresser and was half way out the door when he turned, rolled his eyes and asked me for the bill back w/signature. Am I mistaken? Do we now tip twice for room service? The hotel is in a good part of Pasadena and was convenient to restaurants (that didn't glare at me for tipping a mere 18%.)

The not so good and the pretty bad.
Loved the bellhop - great introduction to the hotel, but it was mostly all down hill from there. The pool needed to be cleaned. Asked for towels to be replaced in the room as we had an accident with a small child - THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!! Asked to have the toilet paper dispenser re-attached to the wall - which also never happened. The carpets hadn't been cleaned well - there were still bits of things left on the floor, so we never felt comfortable having the child on the floor or walking on it barefoot ourselves. There was only decaf coffee in the room and requests for regular coffee were not fulfilled. Luckily there was a Starbucks within walking distance.
