Great hotel except no hot water
Our only snafu at this hotel was that there was no hot water at a time when we had to get ready for a dinner party. They had to get a plumber out, and we asked to change rooms except the whole complex was hot waterless! They offered to let us use the pool shower, but it being the end of December and my mother being 85, I declined. My mother had to take a sponge bath out of the sink with the coffee maker water, and I had to take an ice cold shower. Right before our dinner party the hot water was back. I would have at least expected some kind of refund or discount. Other than this the hotel was great. Yummy breakfast, great pillow top mattresses.

ok, not bad but not great
Not bad and bike rental was nice. We missed breakfast (thought it ended at 10, but ended at 9:30) so can't comment on that. It was noisy outside, even though we were near the back (ground level room). And housekeeping knocked and opened our door at 7:45 am, and again at 8:30. Didn't think we needed a "Do not Disturb" sign for that early, and not happy that they did it twice. Also, pool looked nice enough but spa/hot tub looked unsavory. Was ok, might stay again but might not.

Redondo Beach Brewing Co at 1814 South Catalina Avenue had good beers and service. Nice coffeeshop and shops nearby, and just a couple blocks to the beach. Also there's a farmer's market nearby on Thursday mornings.

Chill place to stay around Redondo Beach
Good location if you are planning to stay in the South Bay area. Walking distance to some restaurants and bars.

No hot water
My wife was sick with a sinus infection so was restless and awake during the four nights we were there. Every evening, the hot water would get cooler and cooler until it was cold by early morning. I'm convinced that the staff turns off the hot water heaters to the rooms to limit the amount used. They said they didn't but we got up very early the last morning we were there to find the water freezing. We called to complain and to tell them what we suspected and to threaten to call Best Western home offices if the practice wasn't corrected. Within 5 minutes the water was hot and running. Coincidence?....I don't think so.

I was allowed to upgrade ...
I was allowed to upgrade to a hotel room for an additional fee. I paid the additional fee but was dismayed that the restaurant was not open that Friday evening, that the continental breakfast was over at 9:00 am when I was told 10:00 am, and that room service was not available on Saturday.

Hotel was great. We had some noisy neighbors toward the end, but what can you do about that? The parking was a little tight at times, but everything else was awesome!

The beach is beautiful and you can walk there from the hotel. Riviera Mexican food resturaunt is also in walking distance and it was very good.

Nice place to stay
Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early and check out late. Lots of places within walking distance to eat and enjoy. Beach is about 1/2 mile away and is not a beach for your kids to play in the water as the surf is very rough there.
