San Diego Sheraton Suites at Symphony Ha
Had to call for towels - seemed to be a shortage of towels! Room set up was very awkward, hotel is old and pocket doors are hard to operate. Very little light and air conditioner did nt work at all - luckily we could open the windows for cool air. We would not stay at this hotel again.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at
The rooms were not ready when we arrived checked in after 5pm, the rooms barely looked clean.. The sheets didn't look as if they were changed daily (I expect that when I stay at a hotel)the toilet was not cleaned daily as I have boys so you know what that means. Our last night there they didn't leave us any towels, bathmat or washcloths. Will NEVER stay there again.

Needing Attitude Adjustment
I rented a pair (2) of two-bedroom suites for mu buddy's bachelor party with the understanding that everyone wanted their own bed. 4 beds for 4 guys, right? WRONG. We arrived to find that the second "room" contained a sofa and a tv, the master had a king sized bed. I went downstairs because, certainly, there was a mistake and we could get the four beds that we had paid for. No such luck. The concierge and front desk refused to budge. So I requested a refund to go elsewhere. Again, no such luck. Their cancellation policy time frame had passed, and I was now responsible for something that I did not ask for. Overall, the rooms were fairly small, the staff was fairly rude, and the parking was $30.00 a night. Definitely not what I would expect from a hotel in the nation's "Finest City". As a San Diego Resident, I am ashamed. 1/5 stars.

We had a dirty room, totally not worth it
When we got to our room, our trash cans weren't cleaned out, and neither was our fridge...there was a CHICKEN WING in the trash and old food in the fridge. We asked for all of our bedding to be changed everyday, so we marked the corner of all of our sheets to make sure that all of them were changed, and even though we complained about the cleanliness that day..they only changed one pillowcase AND they didn't even vacuum our room!! I couldn't even believe it!! And so we had to wait for them to change it and the cleaning ladies were trying to argue with us that nobody told them to change all of our sheets and that we were in the wrong. But, we had talked to 2-3 different managers about this before they had cleaned our room, and all of the managers told us- "Don't worry, your room will be totally clean and the sheets will for sure be changed" We were only there for 3 nights and they ruined about half of our stay because we had to deal with talking to the Managers about the cleanliness and waiting for them to clean our room...we had to wait for an hour at 6:30pm for them to clean our room correctly one of the nights, when we were supposed to be getting ready to go to dinner. Do not waist any of your money at this place...you are better of paying 1/4 of the money and staying at Motel6...Seriously!!

"Dirty, over-priced, and not worth it"
I have stayed at the hotel twice and I am planning on going again next month. Since my room has already been booked, I can't cancel and stay at another hotel in the area. The first time I went I encountered the following problems: - within 90 minutes of our arrival, two people knocked on our door to check electricals and to change out some of the fliers in the room. Then, we get a phone call from management asking if we would kindly answer some questions for a survey. - they only provide two bathtowels per suite. - the windows were greasy and you can see fingerprints and forehead markings. - the couch had lots of hair on it.... human hair. I sat down on the couch and when I got up, I had long blonde hair on my clothes. YUCK! - although the hotel is smoke-free, our floor smelled like an 'illegal drug' my entire weekend there. My second stay: - shower leaked so the entire bathroom floor was wet. - windows were still greasy with prints all over them. I wanted to admire the view at night, but all I can see were the finger and forehead prints all over the windows. On Saturday morning I called "Guest Services" to complain about the windows but they were never cleaned. Needless to say, I ended up cleaning them myself. - the couch was still dirty and had hair all over it. I would hate to stay a third time, but since I booked my rooms in advance for business, I can't cancel now.

our stay at Sheraton Symphony Hall S.D.
While we stayed there, we went to the zoo and to Sea World What was missing was the hotel professionalism. It truly where as if they asked people off the street to come in and run a hotel and a hotel restaurant. This was the 1st time ever we had our room cleaned, and there where NO clean towels replaced. My husband actually had to go to the lobby (since front desk was not answering the phone) and had to ask for towels, which he was given attitude for by the front desk staff. Then at the pool area, there where no towels either. We did not want to walk through the lobby and on to the elevators dripping wet, so we had to wait the 45 min before they finally brought fresh clean pool towels, after they got numerous phone calls from not just us, but other guests there to. At the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, (which by the way, is not worth the $19 per person they are charging)the host and waiters who also had the attitude, where running around, forgetting our coffee order and they seemed completely inexperienced. We felt that even though the hotel was clean and comfortable and the location was great, the professionalism of the staff was just not there at all. Granted, we got free breakfast for our towel troubles which we appreciated, we where disappointed to find the hotel restaurant staff also had the same attitude problems and lack of professionalism. I would not stay there again or recommend the hotel to anyone.

Just very good location, else it's really poor hotel!
Air conditioning never shuts off!! (just can't sleep). The person at check in lacks good manners, it seems that he is always in bad mood. The shower space is really narrow, you can hardly fit into that small space, so it's very difficult to take a good shower. the tub is also very small, looks very nice but does not fit as designed. final comment, only for its great business location I would return, for another reason I can assure you that I will never do it again.

okay but not amazing
It was the first time I ever been to san diego and I probably woulsnt stay again. The price was great but I rather pay a little more to get a little more. The location isnt bad but not the most exciting part of down town. The rooms are slightly dated but nothing to the extreme. The people working there were nice and took care of everything I needed and requested.

good price, good hotel
Had a good size room, comfy bed, sofa bed was nothing you want to sleep on. The fridge in the room wasn't working. Missing little amenities had to call guest services for a hair dryer, wine opener, tissue, however once you called they came up within 5 minutes. The staff was great about answering questions, giving directions and recommending places to eat and hang out.

In need of an update
The hotel is in a decent location. It is walking distance to the Gaslamp and downtown attractions. It is also close to Balboa park and the Hillcrest area. The rooms definitely need to be updated though. Old furniture and decor and very uncomfortable mattress. I stay at a lot of hotels, a lot of Sheratons, and this one was a disappointment. There was a microwave, which was nice, however one would have thought there would be a fridge too since it is a suites hotel. Also, the room always felt damp. I know it can get humid in San Diego, but we travel there frequently and have never experienced a damp room before. Everything in our suitcase smelled musty and was damp when unpacking upon returning home. I think I would try a different hotel before returning to this one, but I am not totally against staying here again.

The Broken Yolk at 355 6th street is not the best breakfast in San Diego as it is advertised to be. Try the Park House Eatery instead.
