Hilton Financial District

The hotel is conveniently located near china town, with a short walk to Union square. The room is clean and the bay view is fantastic. The staffs are helpful and pleasant. The building itself is a little bit dated and so is the room. but all in all a good choice if you get a good rate.

romantic birthday getaway

Took my honey there for his birthday! We had an amazing room on the 27th floor with a city view to die for! Everything was PERFECT! From the bedding to the hotel concierge - perfect in every sense of the word and it spared no detail in luxury!!! The location was perfect - right in the middle of Chinatown and a 5 minute walk to the pier. Highly recommend it!

Location, location, location

Across the street from Chinatown and a couple of blocks from the North Beach area as well as away from the steep hills made for easy walking to good restaurants. Rooms appear to have been redone lately and provided a great view of the bay and Coit Tower. "Heavenly bed" was a little too soft, and street noise early morning made for restless nights. Staff could not have been better!!!

Weekend Getaway

Great location in the heart of China Town and within walking distance to Lil' Italy, financial district and the piers. Room was very nice but found it to be lacking in a few of the amenities our first night. Had a great view of Coit Tower and the bay, just wished our windows were cleaner for a better view. Our room was on the 12th floor and we could hear the band at Kell's a few blocks away as if it were under our window. The drunkards at 2:00 am were especially loud. And of course the building across street was being demo'd at 6:00 AM!

Not worth the Money...

Awesome about hotel: 1. Got to check in early. 2. Got a free room view upgrade. 3. Our room was VERY CLEAN! Hotel Fails: 1. NOT IN "FINANCIAL DISTRICT": The hotel claims its in the "Financial District," ITS NOT! More like smack in middle of Chinatown, SF. 2. OUTLETS ON DESK DO NOT WORK: had to unplug a lamp to charge phones. 3. SLIDING GLASS BATHROOM "DOOR" WAS NON-FUNCTIONAL AS A DOOR: a) door did not lock. b) can see in/out on sides of door when it was "closed" (not ok when my husband, our son and I were sharing a room with my mother). 4. NO VENT/WINDOW IN BATHROOM: Very hot and steamy after taking a shower took 30 minutes for it to cool down and the steam to go away so I could get ready. 5. ROOM SERVICE IS WAY OVERPRICED: $20 for two chili cheese hot dogs. 6. ROOM SERVICES ENDS AT 11PM: We ordered a pizza, when went to lobby there were also two other pizza guys there for other guests. 7. CLOCK IN ROOM WAS WRONG: We ordered the pizza because the clock in our room read 11:30. Actually was 10:30, guess the clock saved us from spending that $20 on the hot dogs and got a large pizza and a 2Ltr soda for the SAME PRICE. 8. VALET PARKING ENDS AT 10PM: We got back from our show late and I had to park my own car in front of the hotel hoping it did not get broken into. I payed $45 for valet parking...but yet had to park my own car???

Positive Overall

The hotel was nice, location was good, but the bartender downstairs could have done a better job. Maybe just a bad day. or an unqualified/untrained person was filling in...which worked out for me because it cut the time I spent down there to just over 10 minutes. The valet attendant assured me that I could park for an hour or two after the 24 hour lapse and ended up with a $50+ charge for one day/night. Hope this helps. Ohh...not sure this is important, but I was unaware that the lobby has an Asian theme (considering its proximity to Chinatown). For those that are looking for or avoiding that.
