Hotel Carlton, a Joie de Vivre Hotel

Hotel Carlton was a neat place. A little off the tourist beaten path which was very nice. Comfortable, clean, friendly, hip, and convenient. Will stay there again.

The Carlton Hotel was very comfortable, the room was much larger than I expected. The location was very good -- I liked the fact that the hotel was about mid point from downtown and fisherman?s Wharf. The staff was very nice and eager to help. As an added bonus was the FREE WiFi.

The Hotel Carlton was conveniently located, the staff was very friendly. They made great suggestions for meals (we didn't care for the cuisine in the hotel) It was a small room, but it had two full sized beds in it. Very classic hotel with beautiful details, design. Walls were a bit thin for the next room but no other noise heard. Great stay, great price, will visit again.

The Hotel Carlton, although not exactly in the center of the major tourist areas, is conveniently located to the major bus and cable car routes on Geary, Van Ness, and California. A single bus can be used to get to Golden Gate Park, or to the Pacific Ocean, or to Fisherman's Wharf, or to Union Square, for example. The theater district is maybe 7 blocks away, or so; the Civic Center venues are a short ride on any of the frequent Van Ness buses. It is a great bargain location: you can splurge on the rest of your trip by saving on lodging at the Hotel Carlton. You will only need a car if you plan to drive outside the bus service area, which is rather extensive. Buy the 4-day or 7-day transit pass, good for all public transportation except BART. The concierge was very helpful with such recommendations.

The staff were very friendly and helpful at check-in, during my stay, and at check-out. My room was large, and included a walk-in closet, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotless every day during my stay. There were restaurants and bars in close proximity. I attended a convention at Moscone Center and it was about a 25 minute walk. I would stay there again.

The Carlton Hotel is a well-priced hotel, staffed with friendly, knowledgeble and helpful people. The wine reception each evening was a nice added touch. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

The Carlton was very comfortable. I truly liked the pillows I alway have trouble with hotel pillows being to hard but the the pillows were great and I did not get a stiff neck Ya! The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have much counter space. Oh, I have to say that with cell phones, computers,and cameras we had plenty of outlets thanks.

The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed but classy. Our room small but elegantly furnished, providing a more than sufficient view of the surrounding area. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant serves excellent arabic fusion cuisine.

It was absolutely the cutest hotel I have ever seen. The staff was extremely friendly, suggesting excellent restaurants for dinner each night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

A lovely hotel. Wine is served in the lobby each evening. The staff was most helpful and friendly. I'll return to Hotel Carlton on my next trip to San Francisco.
