Dining

international lounge
The keynote of the international is the feeling of grown-up glamour and sophistication that reigned throughout the Kennedy years - the golden age of All-American-Style; full of promise and ambition. This is not Austin Powers or Warhol Pop. Think Babe Paley; think dressed up, crisp clothed jet-setters and kings of commerce enjoying a classic champagne cocktail, nibbling an elegant snack, while engaging in intense flirtation and conversation into the wee hours - after all one can always stay over.
No. 10 Thomas
No. 10 Thomas offers Contemporary American cuisine and the perfect ambience for any meal. Watch the "Early birds" at Logan Circle in the morning, sunbathers taking a dip in our pool after lunch, or the sunset over National City Christian Church in the evening. Sip a Glass of Champagne or enjoy a cocktail by candle light on our Poolside terrace and make a wish while counting the shooting stars over Washington D.C.

Nice for adults

The property was well kept up but, on the edge of a not so nice neighborhood. The hotel itself, was still in the downtown area, but a block away the area did not feel safe. Taxis were always available at the front entrance though, and the hotel is on a bus line. The location is not walking distance from any of the D.C. attractions. The rooms were clean and had a separate closet area as well as a separate double sink area. I would have liked a table with chairs in the room to sit around rather than the desk, desk chair and lounge chair but I think the hotel caters to business clients more than to families. The food was very good in the fine dining restaurant. The outdoor pool was very nice. I would recommend the property for adults, but not for families with children.

Good location near other hotels and conference rooms

Generally, this hotel suited my needs. The room was clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast in the restaurant at a good value - offers more than just the buffet. However, the hallways need new carpets and an updated paint job.

Do not stay here.

A sleepy 1960's or '70's decor with a sleepy front desk staff to match. Restaurant was average. Housekeeping did a good job. Newer linens and towels. The pool seemed OK. Tired furniture in room. Newer carpet. Cheap looking dropped tile ceiling by entry. Holes in wall where picture should be hanging. No headboards on beds. Bathrooms have toilets identical to those found in public rest rooms. The cracked bathroom sink is more a part of sleeping area rather than bathroom. Bathroom was in the midst of a paint job or simply patched poorly. TV did not fully function and in room movies unavailable for days. Front desk was given a chance to provide better accommodations and their response was that I had one of their most recently renovated rooms. Horns sounded often from people trying to enter the parking garage that is controlled by an individual at another post. A Friday night party in their banquet facility spilled outdoors by the front entry area (after 10pm) with people making noise later into the night that the staff obviously could not (or would not) control for some time. Convenience to anything is below average.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

This hotel is not very convenient to anything other than over priced DC cabs and a pharmacy. Get a hotel close to a Metro station and closer to sites you want to see.

Great location and service!

My boyfriend and I went on a mini-vacation to DC and had a blast! After having a terrible travel start...the hotel made up for it. The hotel was in a great location...not too far from the busy downtown DC area and a few blocks away from a more quieter area. The service was excellent and very professional! I will definitely stay here again!

Great Place

I picked this hotel based on the reviews. The location fit us perfectly and we walked or took the Metro to most of our destinations. I cannot brag on the staff enough. All went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Used the restaurant and lounge on several occasions and it was quite good and fit our requirements of good quality at a reasonable price. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable priced, clean hotel with a good location.

Good hotel, fabulous location

The location really is A1 -- just 5 blocks from the White House -- allowing us to walk to all the places we wanted to see. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was so good we never bothered to find anywhere else to eat. And we got our room for a great price. If we return to Washington, we'll be heading for the Washington Plaza.

Great value for the location

There is a trade-off for the great location: city noise. There were sirens going off almost every morning and night. One gripe I have about our specific trip was that we never asked for any wake up calls and we got two on our last day there. One call was at 6am and the other came about 45 minutes later. When we mentioned it to the lady checking us out, she just smiled and said that it happens some times. We would have appreciated it if she would have said "Sorry, we'll be sure to look into it." If we were going to visit DC again, we would probably stay at this hotel. It was clean and the rooms were comfortable. Most hotel employees were helpful and the location was convenient for seeing the sights of the city.

The McPherson Square metrorail station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It's great for getting to places out of walking distance.
