Didn't feel safe
Staff was good, pool was good, steps to the beach is great. But otherwise, this is an older motel. Dirty carpet, old bathroom, a bit of a dive. But what troubled me the most was that I didn't feel secure because there is only the key-card door lock--no separate deadbolt to be used from inside the room, and the doors swing OUT (this is against code in my state of CA, apparently not in FL) so I couldn't even prop a chair against the knob on the inside. For 2 women traveling, I didn't feel comfortable.

Bad experience
The Conch House in Daytona Beach was totally disgusting. Other than a great location (beachfront), it has nothing to offer. It was extremely dirty, the elevator has been out of order for quite a long time, the hotel hallway is filthy, the rooms were not appealing, the room carpeting was so dirty we never took our shoes off!! Our rooms were oceanview which means they overlooked a parking lot quite a ways down from the oceanfront. There was a fight in the parking lot one night and yelling and banging on doors all thru the night. We felt totally unsafe. Need I say more?

Not again
Will NOT stay here again ever. We watched many check in and then to go right back and check out. A very run down place, very dirty and not at all kept nice. And NO free breakfast where you can find anywhere now a days. And could have found a much better deal too.

Don't waste your $$$
For about $20 more a night, you could stay in a much better hotel. The rugs in the room are absolutely filthy, cigarette burns, musty smell. Even the one bedspread had burn holes in it. There is not enough parking for the number of rooms. The grounds are absolutely disgusting. No cleaning done in the a.m. around the pool; had to pick up beer cans and throw them away because there were kids in the pool and they were all over one side of the pool deck. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY OR VACATION ON THIS PLACE.

Conch House
The Hotel itself was very, very dirty, but our room was clean. Hotel charged us for parking and for a safe, even if you did not need the safe. The safe in our room did not work. They are supposed to refund that. Not sure yet if they did.

Don't stay in this hotel. It is falling apart. Elevator always blocked off so you had to hike up 3 flights of stairs.

Do not book this hotel
No table in room, couldn't get clean towels. The balcony was hanging to the building by a thread, and there were more cracks in the walls and ceiling than we have ever seen. The hotel was in the middle of a crime ridden neighborhood, we watched [...] deals from our room.

get away
Well first off they took the payment out before I used the room, then the room was nasty. Had to pay extra for parking, no trailer parking but the did have a place you could park the trailers but it cost more money. The bathroom mirrow is falling off the wall, tub has a burn hole in it. I could go on and on but will stop here but trust me I WILL NEVER STAY there again.

What a dump
The first room they put us in smelled really bad and the air conditioning did not work. The door on the safe was ripped off the safe and the room was dirty. The second room did not smell and the ac worked, That was about it. It was not much better than the first. the drain in the tub was stopped up the safe had a door but it did not work. They charged extra to park in there parking lot. The place was built in the 50's and looks like it. All of this for the bargain price of $112.00 a night plus 4 bucks a night for parking. Defiantly stay away from this place. The pictures on there web site must have been taken at least 10 years ago.

Decaying and dismal
I have stayed at some real dumps in my 50m years, but this one is memorable for just how bad it is. The entire property is run down, populated by many nefarious characters (the cops were called twice in 1 night, and again in the morning for a hit and run in the parking lot). Entire property is literally crumbling, the beds were terrible...I hope I''m making this sound bad, do NOT stay here at ANY price.
