Wonderful find!

I booked this hotel last minute . Compared to other hotels in the area, this was far less expensive. I was expecting ordinary lodging. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly ( albeit no one picked up when I called the front desk at 1 am), the swimming pool and jot tub were delightful, the complimentary breakfast was robust. The decor in the spacious room was extremely charming and tasteful. There is a peaceful beach past te pool, nestled on the Gulf of Mexico . Checking in and checking out we're painless . It is about 2 miles away from the hustle bustle of Duvall street festivities , but for me that was a plus. Highly recommend this place!

Everything is frumpy in Key West

This was the cheapest deal in Key West. All other hotels were $315 and up to $450 a night. Given that most of Key West is outdated and frumpy i was not willing to pay that much money to stay there. Continental breakfast was not edible and the beach was quiet on the bay. Needs lots of TLC. Bed was super uncomfortable and I was horrified by the reviews about bed bugs in the hotel!

enjoyed

Staff was very nice and friendly. Stayed over spring break and some guests were very loud -- drinking and yelling next to our room but left when we asked them to be quiet. Construction was only a problem when returning from town and not a fault of the resort.- must use detour. Pool, beach area and breakfast very good. Loved our room overlooking the pool -- cabana room it is called. Rooms are large and comfortable - divided onto 2 sections -- living area and a separated bedroom. Overall a good place to stay.

Two stars is generous!

The hotel has a beautiful pool with a gorgeous private sandy beach. However, our room was rough (dirty and unkept). It was extremely dated and because we were in Key West on a holiday weekend, insanely over priced.

Hotel is in severe need of renovation

Most wall paper peeling off walls in bathroom and the backside of the paper and the face of the underlying walls were covered in mold. Water in shower fluctuates randomly between cold and hot enough to scald (no scald protection, I would not put a child in that situation). Door appeared to have break-in scars around the handle and latch; the gap between the base of the door and the sill was enough to alow leaves to blow into the room all day. Saw several ants in room each day on counters. I wouldn'teven say "crash here if you want a bare bones stay" as you should spend the extra $25 to stay somewhere clean.

Eat breakfast at the Stoned Crab located at the Ibis Resort. Great coffee, pancakes, and omlettes. Lunch is also good- conch fritters and fish tacos.

Overnight stay before cruise

The location was very good but the condition of the room was very bad. The room smelled and there was many areas in the bathroom where the paint was peeled off and there was mold on the walls. The contenial breakfast - it started at 7:30, we were there at 8 and the coffee was out and the toasters didn't work. We were told at checkout that they were going to be renovating the hotel soon but it is too bad they aren't doing more now because the hotel has so much potential.

Clean and friendly

Good location on the water with a little inlet running up the side of the campus. Nice pool area, hot tub was cold the first night, but then warmed up for the second night. Beautiful location on the water with a little beach and palm trees. Provided breakfast was acceptable. Room was large and clean with plenty of towels and a great view onto the pool. Plenty of hot water too. Well landscaped and cozy! 10$ cab ride to Mallory square, 7$ per person to the airport. Not very walk-able outside the resort, Kim's Kuban was delicious!
