Great Experience and Convenience, but you pay for it

Tolerable crowds in January. Loved the experience and convenience. The Disney transportation system is second to none and very convenient. The only downside is that you cannot easily escape paying for this convenience. Expect to pay 2X usual costs for off-site taxi service and on-Disney property dining (whether it be counter service or served). We could have realized some minimal savings by renting a car for the day, but if you're driving you need to be aware of parking costs at the hotel and tolls as well. It was a great experience, but paying out this much for food and going off Disney property would have been a lot more stressful had we not properly budgeted. $100 per person per day turned out to be a realistic budget for our family for dining and spending money beyond the hotel, airfare, and park admission. For your reference, I would characterize us as a fiscally conservative, middle-class family of 3 living in the Baltimore metropolitan area.. We'll probably go off-site next time, as its a better fit for our life-style. But it was nice being pampered once for a memorable vacation

Expect cost of taking off-Disney property taxis and eating on Disney property to be 2X what you're used to. As a reference, we live in Baltimore, so it may vary according to the cost of living in your area.

Good location for Epcot

I usually stay on the monorail, so I do prefer that to having to take a bus, but if you are planning on spending time at Epcot, you can walk. It was convenient because we spent evening out at Epcot and could just walk home down the Boardwalk. Also, it was a great location for the Disney marathon. The room was average, but since it's a Starwood, it had the Westin bed which was great.

Good Family Hotel to Stay while at Disney

Right in the middle of Disney, close to the Boardwalk and Epcot. Disney Shuttles to most locations every 15-20 minutes. Ferry to Epcot and Boardwalk. Staff attends to your needs and courteous. A little pricey but is a good value for money.

Not Recommended at all !!

Old carpet, old furniture, very old flooring , food is terrible. Does not worth $400 per night at all. No desiny character at all and swimming pool is very old fusion. The whole hotel needs a renovation. This is my 5th time in Orlando and this was the worst experience ever hotel at all. Do not let the picture mislead you. The only good thing in this hotel is the staff and the location !

The stores at the Boardwalk have it all and are not crowded. Disney Marketplace was too crowded for us.

For Epcot at Disney World, it's hard to beat location

My wife and just wanted a couple of days before Christmas to walk around Epcot. We decided to stay at the Dolphin because of its location adjacent to Epcot. We just hopped on the Disney boat and we were there in a few minutes. We could have walked if we wanted, but the boat was more fun. The Dolphin is a Marriott hotel, so the quality in service and the room is there. We got an upgrade to a King size bed. The room had a balcony and a couch. The bathroom was small but well appointed. A bonus is the Disney Boardwalk next to the hotel that had lots of shops restaurants and entertainment. This hotel is upscale, not for the budget-minded. But, the pampered service the amenities and the location make it worth the money.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

With this location you can go into Epcot twice in the same day, returning to your room in the afternoon before dinner, rest up, freshen up and then return for the evening staying for the fireworks. It sure beats the trek from the parking lots!
