This 49-room boutique hotel packs in the amenities on the fashionable Washington Avenue. Look for feng shui spaces with bamboo floors, soft lighting and floating Japanese-style furniture.

Nice-ish...

The Good: Location. 2 1/2 blocks from Ocean Ave and the Beach. Lincoln Rd and Española Way are 9 and 6 blocks away receptively. People watching from the outdoor patio area will keep you entertained as all the colorful of people that traverse (or stumble) down Washington Ave pass by. Finally, The Automatic Ikea Room Generator ™ derived bedroom was cute and clean. The Bad: The front desk was unpleasant, bordering on rude. The l bar/lounge/check-in is small, cramped and grossly under air conditioned. The bathroom, although clean, was designed with out doors (chic) but the shower head was too close to the opening resulting in puddles in the bathroom floor (not chic). The WiFi is only available in the lobby is really REALLY slow. The really BAD: The hotel advertises a happy-hour between 7-8 where you can get free well drinks at the bar/lounge/check-in area. The 2 bar tenders where absolutely laughable at there obvious stretching of that happy hour and trying to give out as few drinks as possible in that 1 hour. It was really comedic. They would walk around and behave as though as they were really busy but there were only 4 guests trying to get some free drinks from the bar. I tipped, they even rang the big bell. Did I get better service. No. This is why that bar is empty at 8:02. If they gave better service I would've stayed there a little longer and bought my own drinks. Ridiculous. In conclusion, for the money it's a rather sweet deal. Nice building, clean and comfortalbe. However, with so many other hotels fighting for your business why go and stay somewhere with terrible customer service?

STAYED HERE FOR 5 DAYS AND IT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD THEY HAD A DJ PLAYING FROM 10 AM UNTIL 5 AM ALL 5 DAYS. POOR LIGHTING IN THE ROOMS AND THE ELEVATOR LOOKED LIKE A CLOSET IT IS A GREAT AREA TO JUST PARTY BUT TO HAVE SOME GOOD REST AFTER A NIGHT OF DRINKING NO WAY.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

You have to pay for parking EVERYWHERE in south beach miami. Miniumum of $1.00 per hour - 2 per hour. Many hotels do not offer parking. Be ready to walk many blocks for entertainment or dining or shopping. We also felt the cost for dining was outlandish. Example: Coffee 5.00 and Ginger ale was $5.00. Many of the servers are pushy and rude and gratuity is included on ALL tabs. Be sure to ask about everything. You will get ripped if you don't watch your $$$$. South Beach is definitely a great shopping, dining, and party town, but it will cost you! And the staff will rip you off. BEWARE. Regardless of the negative aspects, We really enjoyed ourselves, but spent far much more $$ than anticipated. BRAVO MIAMI. TRULY AN EXPERIENCE IN ITS OWN. We felt like we were someplace in Europe because the majority of persons in South Beach were foreigners. No exaggerations!

Let there be light!

The room, and the hotel, was very dark. Usually, when an establishment is very dark, they are trying to hide imperfections. Whether it's a dirty carpet or whatever, I don't know. The rooms were clean, but small. It could work for two people, but not four. They advertise a happy hour, but it's only the cheap stuff. For the average price we paid per night, it was just okay. The location is good. I'm used to getting more bang for my buck with hotel deals. In my opinion the "deal" price should have been the regular price. The room was cleaned everyday. The staff was hard working. Depending on what a person wanted in a hotel, I might recommend it.

Great location for the price

Friendly staff, awesome bartenders. Did not like the fact that gave us room service even though I place the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging on the door. A little noisy on the 1st floor at night due to bar location; not big deal for most, but troublesome when staying w/ children. Off-street parking. Close to many restaurants, cigar lounges and the beach. Rent a bike and enjoy the area.

nice but resort fee terrible

great location...front desk very nice..."free happy hour" from 7-8 every day but it's misleading because they charge you a fee of $60 when you check out so it's not really "free". no internet station...only 1 person to bartend and wait on customers in the outside seating area so very slow service...beware of the "resort fee" they only tell and charge you when you check out...and when asked they tell you it's for the happy hour !!

Suited our purpose

We booked the hotel because of its proximity to the Port of Miami and its relatively low cost. Being older and unaware at the time of the "party" nature of the immediate area of South Beach, we were initially a bit concerned when the shuttle bus that picked us up at the Miami airport was festooned with full-size graphics lauding the sexual nature of the associated hotels --- "Kinky sex", "What happens here stays here".,etc. Upon arrival we reluctantly (but boldly) asked if they also rented rooms by the hour. The answer, of course, was "no". Our night's stay was comfortable; the room was clean and the service was fine. This hotel served our purpose well as, in the evening, we explored the nearby South Beach entertainment area just two blocks away and taxied to our nearby cruise ship departure port the following morning. This hotel was inexpensive, clean, adequate and convenient to both the Port of Miami and South Beach. We did, however, ask for a room on the third floor at the back of the building to be as far as possible from the probable noise and music from the lobby bar. We didn't take advantage of the free early evening Happy Hour drinks.

Many decent, beach-front restaurants nearby in South Beach, although a bit pricey. Vibrant nightlife; and we were there on a Sunday evening. Can only image Friday and Saturday.

You really couldn't beat the price...

This was a return visit... I stayed again because the price was right, and the location was perfect... this time, however, the hotel was much noisier than I recall from previous visit... I also did not recall the tv having limited channels... even basic channels... but all in all, you can't beat the location and the price.
