HOTEL RATE IS A SCAM

[...] the hotel has a "marketing" trick so when you arrive they will intend to charge and surprise you mandatory charges for using the pool and the beach services and in addition to the rate you confirmed WHICH IS NOT ADVERTISED. I saw more than 10 clients complaining about the same scam. [...]The location is excelent, however, rooms are small with narrow passages like a laberynth making it noisy at any area, most people would look for bigger room space in a resort. They advertise as a 4 star property which is not rated by anybody because this is NOT A HOTEL ITS A DIVIDED CONDOMINIUM PROPERTY. They will offer you daily coffee which will not happen unless you ask for it. Pool is very small for the size of the hotel, usually dirty due to lack of water recycling. No waiters, no staff presence in the property, very limited housekeeping. Fitness center, very limited and small. There is no concierge only minimal valet service to help solving parking problems. The restaurant and beverage services are useless most people needs to buy its own food or groceries in the supermarket. The reason for the above is that THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, this is a condominium administrated by personnel who intend running it as a hotel and make money but they lack all training and personnel necessary, you will definitely find a better service in any 3 Star Hotel of a reputable hotel brand for the same price.Front desk personnel are young guys with few to none experience in the hospitality business, rotation of personnel is amazing, how do I know ? Look at the poor guys trying to learn how to operate the computer, nobody knows how to use the system. If you can select any other option (which are many in the area) unless you are only a springbreaker caring for a nice bed to sleep and pay for the price of a 4 star hotel, definitely not a good option either for BUSINESS OR PLEASURE.

Average place

We stayed here in July of 2011. Overall this place is average, nothing special. Internet in a room was not working properly. It takes forever to get into the elevator. Not enough umbrellas on the beach, however [...] did a great job finding one for us and getting food/drinks very fast.

Not fully satisfied

PROS:I love the modern look of the hotel. It has a European look to it, very appealing. The people are very friendly. I love the fact that it's right on the beach. My fiance and I really enjoyed the beach, less chaos than south beach. It's also 2 mins away from the Aventura mall which is a plus. However, there are a lot of CONS that i would like to mention: We had the King Ocean View room: the lamp was't working properly, the shower wasn't draining properly, the whole time we were there it was clogged, the toilet wasn't flushing properly. We had to wait few mins before it actually flushed. We were going to request for another room but we were already settled in and it will be a lot of work to pack our stuff again and move. In addition to that, the hotel service was not so good either. We requested for towels but i had to call 3x just to get them. No ice machine so we had to go to Walgreens just to buy cold drinks. The pool is very small, more like a house pool not a resort pool. It's about 30 mins drive to South Beach. Lastly, no public parking so you will have to valet your car which will cost you $20 a day plus a resort fee.

great hotel needs more attentive cleaning service

the hotel is in a fantastic location. walking distance to restaurants etc. although we got a nice little upgrade our room was not equipt with any towels. i had to call three times and finally got them at 9pm. the following day we went out for the day and came back at 6pm. our room was never cleaned. bar and pool staff were friendly and attentive however. i'd definitely be back in hopes that the cleaning service is more efficient.

walk around across the street there are plenty of restaurants. if you turn left into the shopping plaza there is a no-frills cuban restaurant called tropical. if you walk to the right about 4-5 blocks there is a place called miami juice. great for breakfast or lunch.

Needs a lot of things to be really good

We arrived and the room was terrible, but next day we got a suit which was better, thanks to one of the guys at the desk The rooms have no Kleenex, only one towel per person,if you want to take a shower morning and evening you have to ask for it. We wanted to sit on the balcony, they did not provide a chair I asked. The beach is beautiful and the staff is very nice there. All in all we had the opinion, that it needs some improvement yet. J G.

Looks can be deceiving

The hotel is squished between other hotels/condos etc. There is no front entrance to gracefully walk upto. Rooms are very smaill. There are not baths and limited amenities. Pool is quaint but has place to lounge. Entrance to pool is through the garage. Cleanliness was not up to par. For it's location price was fair. Lunch at the beach was very tasty. Beach and pool service slow. Front desk and valet were the best part of the stay. Very friendly and alway available.

Great Location

It is a beautiful place but needs some help. The rooms are a little small for a King Size Bed. room amenities were limited but available on demand. Views of city and ocean were great but no chairs on the balcony. Staff was excellent but room service was way too slow.

Average but not worth the price.

It was average but not worth the price, which translates into average to below average value. The valet parking was a pain, the bar seemed never to be open when we needed it (opened at 5 pm??), the room did not get cleaned until past 5 pm, and the price was just too expensive for all that. The location was very nice and the only redeeming quality.

"GOTCHA" Look out for those extra fees

I'm generally a happy-go-lucky type of person, and certainly not a hotel diva, but I was annoyed at how unfriendly the woman at the front desk was when I questioned the surprise charges at check-in. Be warned...they will hit you up for $15/day resort fee + $20/day valet parking...and you don't have a choice in either case. I tried to explain that these charges were never mentioned upon booking the reservation, but it fell on deaf ears. I was there for less than 24 hours, and it poured rain off and on for my entire stay. Therefore, I can't say I got anything for my "resort fee". Go figure. On the other hand, my room was nice and clean, although minimally appointed.
