Great location, great staff

Fantastic week in South Beach!
When I was considering a vacation in South Beach, a friend recommended the South Beach Marriott. She said it was beautiful and quiet but close to the action. She was exactly right. The hotel was fantastic. Right on the beach (wonderful!), close to amazing restaurants, and close to all of the nightlife. The staff was incredible. They volunteered to store my daughter's surf board while we went out to lunch, gave us access to all the facilities, including the spa, when we had a late flight and gave us great restaurant/activity recommendations. I will definitely go back to the Marriott and have already highly recommended it to friends.

Just OK
Normally stay at Marriotts when I am on vacation. Most if not all I have stayed with have a far better facility. It fit the South Beach mode but usually Marriott breaks the mold with its hotels.

Be careful with local bars and their cocktail poors. The drinks are very strong and very expensive.

Good and bad
It was very affordable but I requested two beds because there were for people and they have me on king size bed. They wouldn't up grade me to the 2bed ocean view which made me pretty upset. House cleaning was great and its right on the beach but a couple blocks south of the night life.

Everything is up a couple blocks north but the good thing is taxis are dirty cheap out there.

Lock up your valuables!!!
Although the location is great, my experience was negatively affected by the fact that I had my Bose headphones (valued over $300US) stolen right out of my locked room. Obviously stolen from hotel cleaning staff. Marriott management and Claims Center denied any liability because an in-room safe is offered. It was extremely difficult dealing with them. An after-the-fact research on internet shows this is common at Marriott hotels. I will NEVER stay at another Marriott again.

Best Pool Experience
What a fun and considerate staff! Sofia and Diego made our time by the pool awesome! I love going somewhere and having them pay attention to how to make your stay better. Top notch!

Nice short trip
The hotel was good, the staff always in perfect atititude to help, and the location and cleaness are more than acceptable. I personally recomend this hotel to anyone.

Not enough towels
we were supposed to get 2 queen size beds. we ended up with just a king (for 2 adults + 2 kids). they gave us a rollaway bed for just one of the kids. we had to continuously ask for more towels. c'mon, we asked for them the first day, with 4 people don't you think we would need them every day as well? overall, not bad. we had a side view of the ocean, but it was nice to just get out of the hotel and within 100yds the ocean was at your feet.

Take a taxi
Do not park your car at this place. The cost is excessive and unneccessary. You are better off taking a taxi. There is an old structure as part of the new hotel. Do not stay there. Floors second and third. The airconditioning is very weak and you are paying for a new hotel but staying in the old hotel.

Not too happy
The staff was very freindly but the hotel needs to be attended better. We felt like every thing took forever to recieve. We have been going to South Beach for the past 12 years and it was not that busy so we expected to get better service.
