This intimate, Art Deco original is near all the best of South Beach
The Richmond bills itself as "Miami Beach's friendliest hotel." The same family has operated the business since it opened its doors in 1941, and the 92-room property is a local favorite. The oceanfront hotel and its neon-flooded exterior and original terrazzo floors fit in with its Art Deco neighbors. South Beach clubs, restaurants and shops are only a stroll away. Lush greenery delivers a sense of Hollywood glamour.

Lookin for relaxation
Nice Hotel
This was my first time to Miami Beach. We needed a place to stay before departing on a cruise the next day. I decided upon the Richmond Hotel and was not disappointed. It was a great value for the location. The beach is right out back and the hotel provides towels. There is also a small pool and deck chairs for sun bathing (if you did not want to go to the beach). The rooms were fine. They were clean and had everything you needed -- including a wall safe. We had a king bed, which was fine. It could have used a pillow top or something as you could feel the crack between the two full size mattresses. There were not a huge amount of TV channels, but I was not there to watch TV. Nice restaurant right accross the street for breakfast and lunch. The Richmond has a bar / grill area, but don't expect much in the way of food. Overall, it a nice hotel and we were plesantly surprised. I would stay there again.

Quiet little Art Deco
It was perfect for a first time stay. We didn't have one complaint. The price was right for what we got. It was small and quaint. The beds were comfortable and it was clean. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Definitley wasn't a 4 or 5 star hotel but would recommend to someone on a low budget. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Great location!
The location was wonderful, just stroll through the pool area and out the back gate, and you're looking at the ocean. Stroll along and admire the other nice hotels, pools, bars, etc. Or take the time to go onto the beach (I didn't have the time). In the other direction (out the front door), just a short stroll to all kinds of shops, restaurants and activities. The only thing was, I thought the hotel was in the art deco district, but the lady at the reception said it was a bit further away. Hmmm...

A Great Stay!
I really enjoyed my vacation at the Richmond. I admit that I was apprehensive after some of the reviews I read before going, but none of what I read there was my experience. Any concerns dissapated like a mist dissolved! The staff was really friendly and helpful. I enjoyed chattng with them. My room was peaceful and relaxing. Other guests were friendly. [...], the manager was very kind. [...](and others) at the desk were so welcoming (each time coming in); [...] at the Cafe was very helpful; and [...] was very efficient from housekeeping in taking care of my room.

Lots within a short walking distance. Movie theatre at end of Lincoln Mall was great to have - a chance to catch up on movies I don't get a chance to see at home.

Nice and Quiet
Good service and friendly and helpful staff... Chef recomended Next Cafe and it was great food. Excellent place to eat and people watch on Lincoln Road.

we enjoyed ourselves
Despite all the other reviews I read after I booked the hotel I was very nervous about staying there. I am so very glad we did!!! The location is perfect, beautiful and clean, and the service was very good. The water issues were normal, once you figure out the hot and the cold u can have an ideal shower... food was great and the everything in walking distance was even better!! I will come back here if I have another miami trip!!

Great Location!
