Wonderful!

Our experience at the Waldorf Astoria was wonderful! Everyone was very kind and friendly. Food was excellent and accomodations were extremely comfortable. Loved the fragarence through out the hotel! We did have one misunderstanding but it was quickly resolved. We would definitely stay again.

Weekend Birthday Bash

The hotel staff could not be nicer and more accommodating to guests. The only two setbacks were: 1. I found a beer bottle under my bed that did not belong to any of us (we do not drink alcohol); and 2. When you book through a third party provider, like a internet travel site, you are treated differently than if you booked it through the hotel. Plus, I learned the rooms were cheaper if I booked it directly through the hotel.

Great Hotel, but extras are irritating

This is a new luxury hotel on the west side of Orlando, located on a new road out of the traffic and congestion. My only issue with the hotel was the extra, non-optional "resort charge" of $25/day for internet and fitness center, which I feel should be included in the $300/day rate. Menu prices were also high - $36 for grilled grouper w/no sides (but it was very good). Staff was excellent.

Overpriced and Overrated

I would not recommend this hotel based on our recent experience. The room was very warm. The thermostat was restricted to 68'.. Maintenance arrived and removed the restriction and the thermostat could be lowered to 62. However, the room still felt like 75 degrees and not 62 by any means. That was not all. Our shower leaked. I've read other guests complain of shower leaks. The caulking on the base of the shower was leaking. The pool is overrated as well. It's two large rectangular pools which is nice but not really worth boasting about, and nothing different than what you can find in a standard hotel. The pool at the adjoining Hilton Bonnet Creek had a much nicer pool and lobby. The breakfast brunch was mediocre in our opinion. Again, it didn't stand out from anything you could get at any other decent hotel both in terms of quality and diversity. The only notable quality was the service. The staff is very polite. They address everyone as Mr., Mrs. in a traditional manner. We addressed these issues with the front desk and they compensated us $100 off the room, valet parking and provided a free brunch. However, the price of these rooms warrant the type of amenities and comforts of much better hotels. For the price you are asked to pay, I would easily select one of the nicer Disney Hotels like the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary or even hotels like the Four Seasons or Ritz Carleton over. Something else to note was the popularity of the adjoining Hilton Bonnet Creek hotel. The Hilton seemed much more contemporary, upscale and livelier. The Hilton seems to be a more popular resort while the Waldorf has the name attached. If I had a choice, I would easily stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek over the Waldorf.

Good Disneyland Hotel Stay

I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for my trip to Disney World. I picked this over Disneyland Resorts because the prices are comparable and I wanted a good night sleep when I come back to the hotel after a long day. This hotel definitely gave me a good shower and a good rest every night! Shuttle service to Disney World The hotel provided shuttles to and from DIsneyland for all 4 parks as well as to Downtown Disney. The shuttles come every 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the popularity of the parks / locations. Most of the time, the shuttles aren't packed except on the first few shuttles every morning when everyone is trying to head to the parks. The shuttles are shared with Hilton which is right next to the Waldorf (Waldorf is the second stop). Sometimes the bus might be full, but the hotel does a good job in making sure there's another bus on its way to pick up the remaining passengers without having to wait for the next scheduled bus. My only comment about shuttles is that it usually goes to multiple stops at a time. For example, the morning shuttles departing from the hotel almost always go to Magic Kingdom first then Epcot then the others and it might get a little frustrating when you didn't expect to sit on the bus for a huge circle before getting to your destination. Might be helpful if there's a bus schedule that tells you the route and/or an estimated time to/from each location so guests can better plan their day. Hotel Staff Hotel staff are extremely friendly and provides really good service to its guests. However once I was trying to get on the next shuttle but decided to stop and ask the front desk a few questions before getting to the bus stop. What I thought was a quick question ended up taking way too long and I ended up missing the shuttle. Tip: Great service comes with a slightly longer wait time. Comparing to a Disney World Resort I didn't stay at a Disney World Resort before, but my friends that went with me have and I've also taken the Disneyland transportation which gave me a good feel for how it might be like stay at a Disney World Resort. The biggest benefits for staying at the Disney World Resort when I went was: 1) Disney World Resort guests get to try out the Fastpass+ which replaces the ticket with a band, allowing guests to plan selected rides/shows ahead of time. 2) More frequent busses/transportation through Disneyland to/from the hotel. Disadvantages to staying at Disney World Resort: 1) Busses/transportation takes at least 30 minutes to get anywhere and are usually more crowded. 2) Unless you stay at the nicest Disney World Resorts, I personally think Waldorf was a good value for the comfort and quality of service you get. Other services Waldorf has town car services that are very reasonably priced that can get you anywhere you want. It's very comfortable and priced similarly with cabs. Breakfast buffet at Oscars is great! Definitely recommend going there for a meal if possible. Free wifi at the hotel.

Great luxury experience and a good value for the area

We were surprised to find it was as nice as it was ... most of the hotels in the area are so kid-focused that they don't totally know how to do luxury, but the Waldorf did not disappoint and we are world travelers. Everything was great and the rooms were much cheaper than Disney hotels on property (and about the same distance from the parks) so it we were worried it wouldn't be as nice, but it was WAY better! We'll definitely stay there again.
