great place

We really enjoyed this resort. There is a lot to do without having to even leave the property. It's close to a Walmart and good dining and in a spot that is ideal for access to typical tourist destinations as well as other, less frequented places. You don't have to deal with the traffic of Int'l drive. I will stay here again and recommend to everyone. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the attempt to force me into waiting for someone to take me to our room. I didn't want to wait 15 minutes, nor did I want to have to tip someone for taking me somewhere I could find on my own. Besides that, I'd have to come back to the main office anyway to get my car. I finally got out of it by grabbing my key from the desk person. It's a nice service to OFFER but don't force people into taking it. Notice how one little negative thing overshadows the many, many great things about this resort.

Close By Everything

The property is a very large condo complex with room rental. Saturday night was very full with lots of activity. Try for a room with a lake view and watch the fireworks at Disney after dark. Weekend nights can get a bit noisy.

I was enjoying my ...

I was enjoying my vacation just fine until I came back from a long day of shopping and found myself locked out of my room. My key wouldn't open the door. So I had to get security to come let me in, which was a 15 minute wait. Once security arrived, they didn't leave. Rather they went on to say that they were just opening the door for us to retrieve our belongings. You can imagine my surprise being that I wasn't supposed to check out for another day. The hotel was a nice place to stay on a budget. It was very clean and the tub was the best part about it. It had these jets just like a jacuzzi and after a long day at the theme park it was nice to come back to. Very convenient for people who want to eat in, but don't plan on cooking large meals. There was also a back screened in patio that had a nice view of the lake. All in all it was nice.

Family Focused

Had a Studio/1-Bedroom. Very spacious and very comfortable. If you need a kitchen go with a larger room. The kitchen is a small mini kitchenette with mini frig. microwave and a sink. It is fully supplied with dishes. I would definately stay again. There was a king size bed and plenty of bathroom space. It is located in an area that is accessable to almost everything you will need to get to on vacation.

Great Value

Room was very clean and spacious, for a one bedroom with an oversized jetted tub. Hotel check-in gave us the wrong key, but made up the inconvenience with a $25 voucher. We will stay here next time, and have recommended it to our friends. It sure beats the higher priced, smaller, dirtier, touristy hotels we?ve stayed at.

Westgate Lakes Resort personnel are all very friendly and helpful. Some minor problems with the room but was fixed within 15-20 minutes. Lots of things to do on the grounds and close to all of the action.

Spot for Romance

In a crazy Orlando metropolis where everything is in the fast lane, Westgate Lakes provided an area of seclusion over a view of a lake. When I wanted to slip into isolation for my 3rd wedding anniversary vacation and my husband wanted to go to Orlando, this was definatly the compromise. Close enough to the parks yet is still a retreat. Equipt with jacuzzi and mirrors. lol. I enjoyed it.
