Family-friendly inn offers Southern hospitality near Panama City
The Sugar Sands Inn and Suites Panama City Beach is in the perfect location for guests wanting a quiet beachfront and a short trip to the center of the action. The huge sundeck sheltered by beach grass and palm trees has plenty of lounge chairs from which to soak in the sun. great time
we had a great time and the hotel was great too. a great view, great to be able to cook in the room especially with kids, and a good deal too

Great location
I had a great stay at Sugar Sands. Every time my boyfriend and I waled into our room, the first thing we saw was the beautiful view of the beach. I love the private balcony. The pool is nice.

The good, the bad, and the OK...
I got to the hotel by myself and it just kinda gave me the willies. My partner arrived later on in the evening and I felt better. Staff was nice, location was nice, but there was either mold or dirt on the ceiling (I just kept telling myself it was dirt), plumbing was backed up the entire time we were there, and there was a leak in the kitchen behind the cabinets, oh and the kitchen sink leaked. The palce has potential but they need to put work into the complex. I gave the place 3 stars because it was a good price, good location, we didn't have to clean dishes when we left, and we didn't spend much time in the room.

Being in Panama City allow enough time for traffic and visitors. Our Hotel was not in the middle of shopping but I would not have changed it. It was quite.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in
This hotel is in serious need of a makeover. I wouldn't give this hotel any higher than a one star rating. The room smelled like a urinal and the carpet was so dirty that you had to keep shoes on the whole time you were inside. The door didn't have a room number on it and it was wrote on the door with a marker. There were giant roaches in the bathroom and the ceiling was caving in.

Great beach
We travel a lot. This is the first hotel that we couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower. Our phone fell off the wall when the receiver was picked up. We could see through the crack in the front door. However, rooms were clean and this hotel had a great beach. The beach is nice because the hotel is far away from most of the hotels on the strip, so it wasn't crowded. It's an older hotel, but it was clean and staff were friendly. However, checkout is at 10:00 a.m., which is the earliest I've seen.

Try the snorkeling and dolphin adventures. Adventure Island on Thomas Drive has a great staff and neat 3 1/2 hour cruise.

Wonderful time
The hotel was wonderful. We had a great time! The check in was easy. Our room was ready early. The hotel staff knew the area well and had good insite on places to eat and things to do. The water was clear! There was even a wedding on the beach at our hotel! We had so much fun.

Family vacation
Nothing close to the hotel. Had to drive to eat, shop etc. Price good. Ocean front.

Nice Getaway
Overall, I loved my stay at this hotel. The rooms were great, had everything that we need to be comfortable. The view of the beach was awesome! I would definitely recommended a stay here to any couple who wants privacy and the beauty of the ocean all wrapped into 1 great package!!!
