Would not recommend the Wyndham

When we arrived the desk clerk was very short and to the point and gave us NO info on the layout of the hotel. We didn't know where the restaurants were didn't know where the bars were. We were not informed on anything. We got to the room and the carpet was filthy. There was no clock in the room. Two of the lamps didn't work. Half the time the t.v. didn't work. Went to the restaurant and asked what time they opened for breakfast and they didn't have a clue. The first waiter came to take our drink order and then never came back. I went to the bar to find him and they said Oh I guess he left for the day. Ordered a burger med and it was well done. It was a bad experience all around. The spring breakers were out of control (but that is not the hotels fault). We were over charged for that visit.

I Loved It!

Although my trip was last minute... Wyndham Bay Resort was on point. The scenery was beautiful, the room was clean , the staff was polite & the options for food inside the hotel were good. The only thing that would have set this over the top would be if it was actually on the beach, but it wasn't far so I was cool with that. I will def be coming back!

Wonderful Relaxation

I went to the Wyndham Bay Point Resort, for a little getaway. It was everything that I needed! It was convenient location, I didn't have to go to far out for food, shopping or the beach. I really enjoyed the spa that was located on the resort. I had a wonderful stay and the next time I visit Panama City I WILL be staying at this resort and so should you!!

NOT worth the money!

Room was small, we saw at least 4 spiders on a fri-sun trip. There was a mysterious stain onour sheets and it took 3 trips from housekeeping to get them changes appropriately. First, they brought twin sheets for our queen bed, then they brought soaking wet sheets to us...seriously. The best part was the trip to Shell island, but we were made aware that we could have booked an excursion through any other group to see the same place. The lobby is beautiful but the rooms are less than motel 6 quality. I am NOT a picky traveler but this place was NOT adequate. STAY AWAY!!!

Lacking Amenities

It was a lovely setting on the bay. NO beach but great pools and good sea shuttles to activities. There was no WiFi, no microwave, no hair dryer... which made being there very inconvenient. They are a few miles from any stores. Also the room was small and the beds were a tad bigger than a single. There were 3 of us and they had no roll aways available. Room service pounded on the door at 8:15 a.m. uhhh we were on vacation. We wont stay there again.

great getaway

I loved it. My children and I had a room in the Augusta section of the resort, not far from the building that hosts the spa and the big pool. The room was on the first floor, overlooking the golf course. I liked the fact that we had a mini semi-private deck with chairs and a table. We could open the glass doors onto it and hang out looking at the green. Very relaxing. The building close to ours also offered free w/d (need to bring your own detergent). Usefyl to dry all the beach and pool towels. The pools were great, and both on-site restaurants were good. My favorite part is the free ship shuttle to Shell Island. It is a 20 minutes ride, so even if one does not really want to go to the beach, the trip there and back is scenic and a great excursion. All the staff was great, and there were no hidden fees. would definitely go there again!

Stick with Condo Rentals

Pros: 1. Shell island ferry was the highlight of our trip. There are times throughout the day that pick you up at the end of the hotel docks and drops you off at the most pristine beach you have ever seen. It was unbelievable if you love to hand out at the beach! Bring an umbrella, cooler, music and chairs and stay all day! I loved every moment here. 2. The golf courses. We played at the Meadows course and it was great and very enjoyable. 3. The serenity pool, which is the bigger pool, was great. 4. The beds are nice and comfy. Cons: 1. Elevators always "Out of Service". Only one elevator worked and we stayed at the hotel during the 4th of July holiday week and weekend. It was frustrating waiting 10 mins every time you needed to use the elevator. 2. No bell hop consistently available. When we checked in later in the evening on the first night, there wasn't anyone available to help us. It took 2 trips to get all our luggage, clubs and other stuff upstairs. 3. Upon check out around 10:30 am there was a guy outside right in front of the hotel cleaning the outdoor fans with bleach. The bleach dripped down and stained by black shirt as well as my boyfriends shirt. I left the property and realized this situation and went back and told the front desk and there was another lady complaining of the same thing. Question: Why allow someone to clean fans during the busiest time of day on the property, check out time?? I still don't know what they plan on doing to make this right. I will assume nothing. I think I will stick to a condo rental next time and take the shuttle to shell island from St. Andrews park.
