Kenilworth Lodge

orbitz took $50.00 from my debit card and i don't know why. i am not happy at all ! i want my $ 50.00 back.

We like hotels with a lot of charm. So, older is usually good. But this place was way over priced for shabby accommodations. I was too bad, because the hotel lobby was vintage 1930's - fire place, well maintained. Great view from the porch. But the beds were unbelievably bad - so noisy you couldn't turn over, hard, lumpy. Might as well sleep in your car. And with the potential charm of the exterior, they could have done a lot inside. NO! 1960's Spartan, rusted sink, plumbing handles falling off. You might as well be up on route 27 for $29.95.

This place should be bulldozed. The mattress was dramatically sagging in the middle, making it difficult to move around or exit the bed. The tub/shower was so crude that I didnt' even bother, paint peeling off it in volume. The elevator took 4 minutes to get to the 3rd floor. The fridge didn't work. The whole place was ancient and had a nasty feel. One small step above sleeping in my car.

Old hotel but has ambience.

My wife and I stayed at the Kenilworth during a weekend of racing at the nearby Sebring raceway. The Kenilworth was built in the early 1900s, which makes it interesting to some and old and dated to others. Like all good hotels, the rooms were very clean, the staff are very courteous, and the breakfast buffet was quite good. My wife and I enjoy old houses, so the sloping floors, deep mosaic tiled bathtub/shower, older style toilet, and rustic hardware were not unusual, and are part of being in an older facility. To us, the add charm. My wife called it perfectly, "it is like staying at your grandmother's house when you were a child". However, if you want everything to be perfect and polished, I would recommend staying somewhere else.

The hotel was very charming and had an old world feel about it. The Contiental Breakfast was wonderful. It had everything a person would want in a breakfast meal. The only thing I found wrong was the slow elevator. I was on the third floor, and I could beat the elevator by walking up the stairs. The room was very clean and well kept. I would definitely stay here again, maybe on the first floor.

Interesting old building with the corresponding oddities and imperfections. Good cleanliness.

I did enjoy this classic older hotel a lot. It has a real style about it. It is not a squeeky clean new type of place but rather older and well cared for. The Staff was great as well. Lots of potential activities for those who want it. Breakfast was nothing special though. The hotel has a beautiful overlook of the nearby lake as well.

i wanted to be close to sebring regional airport for a air show. very easy to get where i wanted. nice old place; reminds me of awannee at yosemite

I got there very late, but the receptionist did not make me feel as if I was inconveniencing her her at all. I lived in Sebring as a child and had never stayed there or even visited. I loved the old fashioned look of it. For example, the wooden doors with the glass doorknobs and the sweeping staircase. The lobby upon entering makes you feel welcome, not like you are just a client on a business trip. I thoroughly enjoyed it and if I ever have to stay in Sebring again, that's where I want to stay.
