Good vibrations in St. Pete Beach
Send friends "Wish you were here" letters from the Postcard Inn on the Beach. This retro beach motel was built in 1957 and recently reimagined as a hip St. Pete Beach destination for a casual getaway. Look for old-school details like wood paneling, bead curtains and boxy telephones. Two on-site restaurants serve up fantastic burgers and barbecue. Cool details and a relaxed vibe make The Postcard Inn on the Beach a great choice for anyone whose primary purpose is fun.
Highlights

  • Beachfront location
  • Retro-cool theme in vintage furnishings and surf-inspired art
  • Two on-site eateries
  • Free Wi-Fi Internet access
  • Outdoor swimming pool

Rooms
Each of the 196 surfer chic rooms at the Postcard Inn on the Beach is different, but all feature flat-panel TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access and work stations with vintage light fixtures. Choose from classic king or double queens rooms, garden rooms or poolside cabanas. The focal point of each room is a large surf-inspired mural by a local photographer, a vintage photo collage or a collection of quotes by surfers and other philosophers.
Features
The U-shaped Postcard Inn on the Beach building surrounds a courtyard where a fire pit, volleyball net and cornhole boards are always set up for a party. If that's too much activity, there's always the heated pool, where guests can simply lie on a beach chair under a palm tree or in the Florida sun. Supersoft white sands are just steps away. Pets are welcome (fees apply).
Dining
With two beachfront dining options at the Postcard Inn on the Beach, guests don't have to wander far to fill their bellies. "Big Lou" is the maestro at Beachwood BBQ & Burger, open every day at 11:30 a.m. The PCI Beach Bar & Snack Shack offers hot breakfast options in the morning and then typical American picnic-on-the-beach fare throughout the day.

last minute getaway

arriving on good Friday was busy. the hotel was packed as was the beach for Easter weekend, but the staff handled it easily. Having clearly taken over an old motel, they did a nice job of sprucing it up. The room surfy decor was attractive and got you in the mood for the beach. The pool was big and an awesome refuge form the windy beach on cooler days. The beach had a lot of frontage and it seemed like the PCI beach bar was the place to be, no matter where you were staying on the beach. Overall, we had a great time.

great decor and food

I loved the charm of the Postcard - it had a fun, beachy feel, but not at all like the typical FL hotel. It felt young, stylish and fresh and had a unique and very tasty snack bar and restaurant menu. The staff overall were very nice and super helpful - in the restaurant in particular - with the exception of front desk, which fluxuated between very good and not so much, i.e. we arrived early from the airport and were assured that we would receive a call when our room was ready. We hadn't heard anything by 4pm (the regular check-in time, which I personally thought was a bit late) so I went to the front desk again and, despite the fact that we were traveling with a young child, clearly no effort whatsoever had been given to our reservation.

Pass a Grille and Fort Desoto beaches are both great for shelling and spending time. Worth checking out.

st pete beach getaway

great location - right on the beach. pet friendly hotel - that was a big bonus! the room was nice and large with a king beg, the bathroom was outdated, but everything was clean and nice. love the courtyard, the fire pit, nice pool, the bar and the restaurant. the place had a very nice atmosphere. some negatives - the pillows were uncomfortable. the walls are paper thin.

A bit campy, but don't miss it

Looked at the pics and thought OK, we'll try it. Beds are REALLY comfortable with big nice pillows. Could have spent more of renovation money on sound-proofing though. Complained about partiers next door. They found us another, better room. Very accommodating and friendly staff!

One night

We were able to take advantage of the 2 free drinks in the bar and were quite surprised how good the nachos were. The bartender was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The bathroom was small and hot water was warm at best.

Great Anniverary retreat on the beach

The Inn is a little older, but gives a lot of "atmosphere" for the price. The restaurant there served very good food....beach is huge and great... the location is excellent for walking to other spots we will go back

Decent for price

Room was clean. Gets loud on the weekends - they are quite the wedding mill - at least five weddings in two days during our time there. Can't beat the location - you walk from your room right onto the beach.
