Tampa Tradewinds Trip

The hotel was very family focused and friendly. Concierge service was excellent. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area as well as grocery and drug stores. Very good location, right on the beach. There was a kiddie pool for little ones and a shade pool for people with too much sun. Two other pools for kids to enjoy as well as the ocean. Deli and Pizza Hut and ice cream on premises. Plenty of crafts to do for the kids to take home as souvenirs and babysitting services available too.

Pretty good value for money.

Check in was easy. Room looked good - nice decor, but had a few problems. The toilet was leaking a little and there was water on the floor. The air conditioner was noisy and the view was terrible - roof and air vents just outside the window. Having said that, the space was roomy and the bed was comfortable. Also the sound proofing was good - no noise from the hallway. The hotel staff were friendly and it was easy to get a cabana on the beach. There was plenty to do and there were several restaurants on site.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

The strip and resort shuts down fairly early - stores 10:00 p.m. and resort around 11:00 p.m. There may be bars on the beach that stay open however.

Fantastic Resort

The purpose of the trip was mostly to relax on the beach which was incredible. The sun was shining, the water was warm and the sand was white. The cabanas were a pleasure to have down on the beach and the staff was extremely pleasant. There were a multitude of activities including tennis courts, paddleboats and movie screenings.

There are some excellent places to dine in St. Pete Beach including Crabby Bill's, which is a wondering seafood spot a few blocks from the resort.

Much needed vacation

- beach time was perfect, except for bad weather the first 2 days - room service personnel were not flexible - my previous trip was in may 2007 & the weather was real nice, hotel was less crowded, but my room in this trip was nicer & bigger

Fun in the Sun

The hotel was rated 4 star AAA and I agree. The location on the beach and landscaping around the facility was beautiful. Families with children will love the the planned programing provided by the activity director. The beach front beach front location is lovely but beware of the additional resort fee charge per day. Additionally, check your room location, ours was over a parking lot not a pretty sight. However, the hotel was willing to upgrade our room for an additional fee. The hotel did not appear to be fully booked, a complementary upgrade room would have been nice. That being said, over all this property was among one of the nicest we've stayed at.
