We caught them trying to add extra charges!

We did not have a good experience. Parking was a pretty bad issue. The rooms had an odor and the bathroom not cleaned very well. The worst part was the extra charges when we checked out (after pre-paying). We had to pay over $100 (for two nights) for "resort fees" on top of the prepaid amount; they also tried to sneak another $56 in with no explanation. Even the resort fees were ambiguous. He changed the amount several times and could not tell us why.

Ok but wouldn't recommend for the price

Ok but expensive for what you get. The beds were soft and worn (mattresses sloped), the shower pressure was only a trickle, one side would be cold while you wash the other off. There was no bathroom fan which is not always pleasant! The staff was very friendly and lots of things there but like any resort, wayyy overpriced. It is more of a family atmosphere for those with kids but be prepared to spend some money if you purchase things there.

Good hotel-Horrible Delta flight

Room was clean. Would recommend upgrading to gulf front room. Restaurants were good and reasonably priced. Good location- within driving distance to John's pass, Disney, and the Pier. Worst part of trip was flying Delta. I would never fly that airline again!!!!!

Florida Vacation

I thought the hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful and polite. We had originally planned on going to Mexico as that is where we go every year. The resorts there have a much better atmosphere then the Tradewinds. We had to make our own fun at Tradewinds.

mixed bag

We did not like the extra fee we had to pay for "activities" I think parking should be included while being a guest at the resort. Also we had a 1 1/2" roach in the bathroom when we arrived. We brought it down in a drinking glass the only comment we got was "Oh that's a Palmetto bug". The next day the glass was not replaced by house keeping. The one bright spot was the gentleman manning the paddleboat. He was very polite and wiped down a wet seat before we got in. He's a keeper! The room we had was Quite noisy. At one point it sounded like there was a construction crew next door.

Mixed Feelings

The hotel is in need of serious updating and repair. Our windows would open but not close. Areas of trim by doors and corners were broken, bathroom grout dirty and we actually had an ENORMOUS cockroach in one of our adjoining rooms! We were not happy with the daily parking fee and with the resort fee that did NOT include the water slide, which is the main focus of any child,as well as a fee for the 3 minute use of the trampoline. As adults, we liked the idea of the "Bar Crawl T-shirt" that we could get if we had our "passport" stamped at each bar, but we soon realized the drinks we had to purchase would equate to us getting ONE $56 t-shirt! Do not eat on property!!! We strongly suggest stocking up from the local grocery store and eating breakfast and lunch there. The food at the resort is fair at best and is too expensive. For dinner, we LOVED Crabby Bill's (kid friendly, great seafood and ribs) and also Snappers is excellent. We had adequate Italian food at GiGi's. What we liked the best was the fact that both beach and pool were in such close proximity as well as choices of rentals, like parasailing and jetskiing.

Tradewinds, not so Grand

Hotel grounds were beautiful and staff was very friendly. However, hotel was old and rooms worn. It was also very noisy...especially if you were in room 6630 where some sort of generator would go off at 9 am for about 20 minutes everyday.
