very great for the price!!!!!!
The ResortQuest Waikiki Sunset hotel was awesome.I really didnt expect that. Room was very clean and big enough. Hotel staff was very friendly and right there when you need them. Room service was every day.We didnt expect to have a kitchen. But we had fully equiped kitchen. Beach was not very far, just 3 blocks. shops all around you. Go no hungry. And if you decide to stay at this hotel, believe me you'll love it for the price they offer you. You have to visit the Marriot Hotel buffet. Its just 2 block up . Oh the food is awesome for $19.99 a person and kids eat free. I trully recommend to anybody who is first time in Hawaii.

Home away from home, only this one is in paradise!!
Our bed was just like mine at home. Our children enjoyed the swimming pool as we watched them from the balcony. I'm happy to say at their ages of 9 and 12 we were able to give them a little free time to play without any problems. It was very hard to leave such a beautiful vacation. We are hoping to return very soon. This my way of celebrating my wife's birthday. It was a big success!

Family Fun close to the beach/downtown
Our stay at the Resort Quest Sunset was very nice from check-in to check -out. With the beach just 3 blocks and food in town we could have stayed longer. The pool and facilities were great and the staff were very helpful. The elevators were just fine -remember you are on hawaii time! We would definitely stay again knowing we had the full kitchen condo. It felt like home for a week anyways! ALOHA

Comfortable and relaxing
ResortQuest Waikiki Sunset staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. It is about 3 blocks from the beach. This made it easy to walk to but we didn't have all the congestion of the beach. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We had one bedroom with a king bed and a living room with table and chairs and a sofa sleeper. It also had a kitchen area with refridgerator, stove, sink, microwave, ect. The sport area (swimming pool, tennis court) on the 6th floor had a great view of Diamond head. The view from our room showed the mountains. There was also gated parking. The only thing that we didn't like was they only have 3 elevators and they were very slow, so we always had a wait. There was also a small market in the hotel. You could quickly pick up snacks and drinks. There is also 2 ABC stores within 1 block.

Excellent Value
The Waikiki Sunset is an excellent value for the money. Close to everything at a value price. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are large with a separate bedroom and living room. Full kitchen to prepare meals if you want to. We had an excellent view of Diamond Head with peek-a-boo views of the ocean from our balcony. This is an older property and it shows it age, but they were starting a major renovation during our visit. Parking is available for $11 a day which we found to be a great value as well. Nice pool and walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and the ala wai canal. We will definately return for another visit in the future,

Very family friendly
We are a family of four, and we had a very nice stay at the ResortQuest Waikiki Sunset. Our room had an ocean/Diamond Head view, which you could enjoy from the balcony as well as from the large bedroom window. The hallway carpeting and doors are a very dated pea green, but the rooms were nice. The hotel was located very conveniently a couple of blocks from Waikiki beach, and the beach towels were provided by the hotel. Our suite had a twin and double bed in the bedroom, as well as a sofa sleeper in the living room area. The kitchen was fully equipped--all you have to do is provide the food. It saved us a lot of time and expense to be able to eat our meals in the room, especially breakfast. Our kids were to receive a free gift and a discount card for various places and venues when we checked in, but they forgot. When we asked the front desk about it the next day, they provided the items. We had a rental car which we parked at the hotel parking lot for an $11.00 daily fee. There was internet access for a fee on the 6th floor. The pool was also there, but we didn't get the chance to use it. All in all, I would stay there again, and would recommend it to others.

Very Nice!
Not the best hotel, but The Resortquest Waikiki Sunset is by far better than a lot of the others. Condo style rooms with seperate bedroom and a living room area with a pull-out queen sofabed plus a full-sized kitchen with kitchen range/oven and regular sized refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and coffee maker. The balcony w/table and chairs(2)was nice as well. Ocean view was a bit obscured by other hotels but we could see Diamond Head one way and surfers out on Waikiki Beach the other way! Not great but not bad! This was good for us because we wanted to cook some of our meals(mostly breakfast)and two couples could have privacy as the rooms were seperate and not open like other hotels. Location was OK on the quiet side of Waikiki, unless you want to party down the main area of Waikiki where most of the shops and nightclubs are at. It's a bit of a walk though. There is a Starbucks, Burger King and Subway close by on Kalakaua,(the main strip down Waikiki)as there is no resturaunt in this hotel(why have one if you have a full kitchen to use? but there are places to dine down the road). There was dining specials all the time at the Ocean Resort Hotel nearby at their resturant/grill. Anyone can go there.. The staff here was good and very friendly and the room was always clean and we always had fresh, clean towels, soap, lotions, etc. everyday and our beds were made and sheets were changed if we requested it. It's 5 min to the beach and you have a bus stop on the corner of Kuhio to take you to either downtown Waikiki, or historical Honolulu where the Iolani Palace is, Chinatown, or the Ala Moana Shopping Center, the piers near Aloha Tower, etc.. or anywhere on the island such as Pearl Harbor, Haunauma Bay, etc... Oahu's transportation is second to none! Only $1 and a bus shows up every 5 or 10 min.. OR you can take the trolley for a more scenic view. Costs a little more but some are free to the Galleria and Hilo Hatties(shopping venues). If you have a car rental you can park in the garage for $9/day(that was a downer!) but there are worst rates in town to park. Very tight garage stalls so watch out! There is a pool, mainly for the kids and women to lay out and tan and there is a tennis court and a gas-grill cooking area. There is a mini-mart on the 5th floor for much needed items like sugar, coffee, band-aids, sunscreen, pop, snorkel masks and fins, etc.. and on the 6th floor near the pool is a computer room and wi-fi area for laptops. Overall, we liked it a lot and would recommend it! Not the fanciest but great for families or two couples as rooms could acccomodate up to 5 people. VERY GOOD STAY!!...

Not Applicable
..Advice: Don't need a car rental if going just in town. Just use the bus or trolley. Also, go to the ABC stores for simple items. Go to the Swap Meet for souvenirs to take back home(T-shirts, etc..) at Aloha Stadium on Wed, Sat or Sun. Going to the Arizona Memorial - Go early as possible, before 7am ! Aloha and have fun!
