Great for honey mooners!
Great hotel!! It's in a beatiful area. 30 min away from honolulu or Waikiki, but quiet and romantic. Sharks and rays in the lobby. Private beach, not as crowded as in Waikiki. Beatiful view. Great Hotel!

Girls Getaway
Three of us "girls" had a fantastic getaway at the Ihilani. We did not use the spa amenities because we were so enraptured by the beautiful cove beach. We spent one whole day swimming in the ocean and laying on the beach chit chatting. The hotel had snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaks for renting right on the beach. The staff were pleasant for the most part, especially the valet parking attendants, who remembered us every time we came for the car.

Hawaiian Honeymoon
Customer service was great. Location was great out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki- Room was clean and very nice- One issue was the noise coming from the Disney resort next door- Our room was on the other side of the hotel and we were lucky because up until 930pm or so there is a loud racket that can be heard on the other side of the hotel coming from Disney- Beach is fine. Good for families because it's protected and has no waves, but much better ones on the island- $35 a day parking fee stinks, but other than that was a great stay-

Great place but hidden fees
The hotel is wonderful. Great views, rooms are excellent, saltwater ponds with live sea life, pool, beach, etc. With that being said it is geared to get you to spend money. Hawaii is expensive enough as is but here are a few things to watch out for. If you bring a rental car they will charge an extra $35/day to park it in their garage. There are not alternatives nearby so this is pretty much forced. No food or drink is allowed on the beach or at the pool, but you can buy their pricey food and drink at any time. No microwave in the hotel rooms (although they do offer a refrigerator) If you want to see a Luau then Paradise Cove is right next door in walking distance. If you are looking for an unrestricted beach, hop in the car and head down the road to the Ko'Olina Marina. Great beach with free parking and unrestricted access. All in all it is a great 4 star hotel and with that come 4 start prices. If you are staying here and know what to look out for you can make it affordable.

If you do not want to pay the inflated prices at the dining options on site, then you can walk across the main road and there are many small places to eat and a local market with great options.

JW is the best
Due to somewhat disappointing weather for our week in Hawaii we had the chance to drive all around the island. This is the best location to be close to everything yet far enough away to not feel like you are in a big city. Staff was very helpful and fun. Lagoons offer a perfect spot to sun bath and swim. On the down side if you are interested in surfing you will need to drive to a different beach but this is a good short day trip to many of the beaches on the north shore of Waikiki. The room has a great view and great layout. But we we very disappointed by the digital room controls which seemed to take 3 second to respond to light switch changes.
