Not Tough To Please
What a dump! Avoid at all costs!
For a downtown Chicago hotel, this was poor. The "tower" my room was was more run down than my college dorm room. Unpainted fixture, kind of holding the door to the adjacent room closed, looked like it would fall off with any contact and there was no deadbolt. Looked like it hadn't been painted in decades. Bed linen were discolored (soiled?). Room had a "funky" smell. The front desk couldn't supply a wake up call. A genuine disaster!

Not Good, Avoid
Rude staff; room smelled like cats; HVAC inoperable; Toilet did not work properly; bad value for the money; Wi-Fi cost $10/day/device!!! Lobby was very nice...and misleading. Good location, if you stay here, plan on not wanting to be in the room unless sleeping.

Hot, Noisy, and Small
We checked in really early but told the hotel staff that there wasn't a rush for the room since we would be back to the hotel to go to the room really late. The room was exceptionally hot, with the only way to adjust the temperature by opening a window 4". However, at midnight, the "L" was still running just below the room so the noise level was too loud to keep it open. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were not much better. Internet was a separate charge and they blocked the signal for my IPad so I couldn't even use that.

Cockroaches
We had cockroaches in our room! The staff was nice and quick to give us a new room. But the cockroaches caused uneasiness throughout the trip and we were not offered anything "for our trouble". Gross.

Disappointed
This hotel was given a 3 star rating but does not deserve a 2 star. This is a very old hotel that needs redecorating and upgrading. I was so disappointed in our room the first night that I went to the desk to let them know. I was given the choice of two other rooms that were a bit nicer but still were in need of renovation. I could have stated at a Hilton just down the street for a few dollars and more and would have been so much happier. The good things about this place were the staff and the location - but there are so many other hotels that are nearby. They charged $10 per day for wifi so we went to Panera to use theirs.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was outdated, other than a plasma tv (whoopie!).The room was too small and felt old.

Not to happy
The room was very small. No hot water in the evening or in the morning. Horrible view. Room was somewhat clean but the hallways and carpet seemed to be dirty.

good location
Rooms are big. Air conditioner in room barely worked, room stayed warm. Poor water pressure. Shower would not drain. Long wait for elevators, lines long.
