nice hotel
There was a huge disgusting bug/insect/creature in my room the first morning, but they were quick to offer me a new room (upgraded complementary) to compensate for the nasty creature being in my room. The hotel seemed a little run-down compared to my original expectations of it (and the price), but overall it was nice.

Hotel quality
We attended the Chicago blues Fest, and have stayed at the Chicago Hilton hotel each visit (fourth). However, the last two visits have been met with dissatisfaction. Complaints consisted of broken heater in room, shower heads not working properly, being charged for services not rendered, no mat in shower (husband slipped in tub while taking shower. The rooms are always nice and clean, but we seemed to have to always change rooms because of something not working.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Chicago Hilton is across the street from Grant Park, venue for the festivals, which makes this hotel in a prime location, however, the quality of the hotel is slipping.

Ok Overall
I was there on a business trip over the weekend. The hotel was fine, however I would say that the cleanliness of the hotel could have been much better. I did not like walking into the bathroom and seeing clumps of hair on the floor that were not mine. The walls were also splattered with stain marks. Just not a very pleasant thing to walk into right away.

Disappointed with the basics
After returning to our room after a full day of Christening activities for our grandchild around midnight, we found our room exactly as we left it... no housecleaning, no fresh towels, etc. However, we did have a new $6.00 2 litre bottle of water waiting for us. With a call to the front desk we were told no adjustment could be made to our bill because we dealt with [...]! A day's parking was removed as well as the $6.00 bottle of water. Not good enough... No more Hilton and no more [...]for us!!

Historical landmark needs some updating
I was in town for the NRA Show, and the Hilton was one of the most reasonably priced hotels available. The location is great - very scenic as it's situated across from Grant Park and a short cab ride away to many landmarks and neighborhoods. I enjoyed learning about the interesting historical facts about the hotel during my short elevator rides, and there is definitely an air of old school glamour. If you're looking for modern and hip, this is not the place for you. The rooms were quite outdated in terms of decor and my room had a strong musty smell which I eventually got used to. It also would have been nice to have free WiFi and free access to their gym. Ask for a room facing the park and a non-smoking room.

Hilton Chicago Executive Floor
Spent 2 nights on the executive floor at the Hilton Chicago. Very beautiful and the concierge lounge has a fantastic view of the lake. Room was clean and nicely appointed. This location is very centrally located. Would definitely stay again.
