Family-friendly hotel with two bright pools
Five miles from downtown Portland, Fireside Inn and Suites Portland offers reasonable rates on comfortable rooms with courtyard views. True to the name, a stone fireplace adds warmth to the lobby. Guests find value throughout the hotel, from a free express continental breakfast daily and free Wi-Fi to an airport shuttle and two pools. Family-friendly Zackery's restaurant serves mouth-watering varieties of interantional cuisines and regional specialties. Business guests appreciate the variety of options for hosting meetings, conferences and special events.

Girls Get Away
Hotel lobby nice. No help offered to our room was very inconvenient to get to and from front entry. Front desk and shuttle staff great. Hostess was rude,went to eat at 8:30, we could be seated but they closed at 9:00, she had to cash her drawer out, the waiter was fantastic, did not rush us and the food was wonderful! We loved the band in the lounger. Disappointing not to have a choice for lunch, deli sandwiches, chips, salads, etc., would have been nice. At 1:00 PM housekeeping had not been in yet, the front desk called to tell us their shift was over at 2:00. We went to downtown twice each day, it cost us $70 each day for transportation.

Visited family in Portland
The hotel was adequate...the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The carpet should be removed. It is very dirty. It is an adequate hotel if you are not staying in the room for long periods. This hotel needs to be revamped and updated. The best thing about the stay was the breakfast in the dining room....it was very inexpensive and delicious.

Fair location, basic hotel
Great location if you want right off highway. Not so good if you want to be in the center of town. We only used the room which had clean sheets and towels. Rugs and curtains could use washing. Room amenities were basic. Free wifi is nice. Never used pool or dining room.

Awesome value for family oriented hotel
We stay here whenever we are in the Portland area. The kids love having the choice of swimming in either the heated outdoor or indoor pools and it's location allows us to go to the beach Durring the day and then eat out in Portland at night.

Ok stay
this hotel is ok. I would not choose it again however. Clean but not as clean as Hampton inn or Marriott suites. Breakfast was poor in terms of food options. Expensive for what it was, although summer travel hotels can get top dollar. Comfortable beds.

Expected more
The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the great greeter they have for the continental breakfast. The breakfast itself was also very satisfactory. However, we paid $10 extra for a "pool view" room, and could not see the pool from our room. In addition, the drain in the tub was clogged, and the carpet in the room had a moldy smell. We were not impressed at all with our room. The pool had a lot of dead bugs floating in it, which was disconcerting.

A fine place...
Fireside is a fine place to stay. Not over the top but a clean room in a good location.
